Manchester United fans are starting to believe they can win it all.
Ruben Amorim is set to take the reins at the Red Devils - and his parting gift to Sporting Lisbon was a 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League. It's the third straight loss for Pep Guardiola and company.
However, United fan won't care - with some even joking they're going to win everything under their new Portuguese manager. And one fan joked: "I don’t want to overreact after Amorim beat City 4-1, but it’s clear we’re winning the quadruple this season, and maybe even the Olympics!"
"I suppose that's United winning the league this season then," a second said. While a third posted: "What's stopping Ruben Amorim winning it all at Man United?!"
"Whoever cannot adapt to the winning formula must go! I fully back Ruben Amorim," a fourth declared. And another added: "We will be getting 20 years of Ruben Amorim, if he gets us winning trophies..."
Amorim was already aware of the lofty expectations that would be placed on his shoulders if Sporting shocked City at home.
Ahead of the game, Amorim had joked: "My focus is on winning the match for Sporting. The conclusions are not important for me because they could be erroneous: if we win tomorrow they will think the new Alex Ferguson has arrived.
"That will be very difficult. It could increase expectations, I don’t know what is better when I start my new adventure.”
He added: "Tomorrow I will learn a lot during the matches, one thing to watch on TV another is to see it live. When I go to Man Utd I will have a different idea, but I don’t know what I will find.”
