Helldivers 2 Omens of Tyranny release time as players prepare to enter city maps

Helldivers 2's biggest update yet arrives today after a surprise reveal at The Game Awards — here's when you can enter the new city maps in the Urban Legends warbond

The Game Awards gave us Warframe's 1999 expansion which drops today, but that's not all.

Helldivers 2 players are also in for a treat, with the game getting another huge Warbond update. Not only does it include the usual new weapons, but it sees players drop into urban areas for the first time to tackle the new Illuminate faction.


With so much included, it's understandable if you're excited to get started. Here's when the update drops for Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 Omens of Tyranny start time

Omens of Tyranny is out now, meaning if you're at work (as we are) your PS5 is hopefully downloading it as we speak.

The latest Helldivers update is a biggie, and comes in two parts: the update itself, and a fresh new Warbond dubbed Urban Legends.

Omens of Tyranny introduces the zombie-like Illuminate faction which had been rumoured for years. It finally makes its debut and is a little spookier than what we've fought so far.

The update includes new urban maps as the Illuminate come for Super Earth colonies, and the new Warbond is packed with fresh tools to preserve freedom with.

It includes a new weapon emplacement, a flame turret emplacement, and a directional shield as strategems, while new weapons include the new SQC-19 Stun Lance, the game's first melee secondary weapon.
