Antiques Roadshow host Fiona Bruce was left saying "goodness me" after discovering the value of a rather unusual item.
The popular BBC programme returned for another episode on Sunday (September 15) night with presenter Fiona leading the show taking viewers to Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery in West London.
Members of the public were quick to present their treasured items for valuation by experts but things took an unexpected turn when the TV star learned the worth of a ornament she admitted "gave her nightmares."
Fiona spoke with a council representative named Will, who brought along some "prized possessions" from renowned potters The Martin brothers. Will proceeded to discuss the famous siblings and their remarkable collections over the years.
However, it seemed Fiona wasn't particularly fond of one of the pieces. She sought the opinion of expert John Sandon regarding the valuation of the items, to which he responded: "It's so divisive! ", reports the Express.
Fiona then gestured towards an odd-looking statue and confessed: "Can I confess, I mean, this would give me nightmares!"
Discussing the peculiar object, another expert, also named Will, said: "It's probably the highlight of our collection. It's listed in our catalogue as the Old Man of the Sea. It almost looks like a shell with a face."
Revealing the significant value of the ornament, John stated: "There's one other one like it which was sold a few years ago and was thankfully saved for the nation."
He revealed: "It's now in the museum in Plymouth, but it cost the incredible sum of £260,000! " The staggering price tag took everyone by surprise, prompting Fiona to exclaim: "Gasps behind me here! Wow! Goodness me."
John noted: "Seriously expensive creature!" which led Fiona to respond: "With that valuation you could blow me down with a feather!" Underlining their significance, John continued: "These are not being sold, they are going to be enjoyed by local residents."
