Coronation Street: Fiz Stape faces court while her evil husband, John, isn't off scene yet

INNOCENT Fiz Stape is led into court for the start of her trial – as her estranged husband John watches from afar.

The killer returns to the cobbles in a bid to stop her being sent down for the murders of Colin Fishwick, his elderly mother Joy and stalker Charlotte Hoyle.

And as our picture shows John, looking dishevelled with a beard, realises he has to do something drastic to help the wronged mum-of-one.

But instead of handing himself in to the police, he decides to return to Weatherfield where he will kidnap Rosie Webster.

He holds the babe hostage and reveals exactly what happened to the three people he killed. He then orders her to go to the court and repeat his version of the events to get Fiz off – or else face the consequences.

A Coronation Street insider said: “John is back and desperate to save Fiz from going down.

“She has no idea he’s back and things really aren’t going very well for her inside the court.

“The prosecution has a strong case against her because she helped John to move Colin’s body and pretended to be Joy’s daughter-in-law to cash in on her will while John was in a mental hospital.

“All John has to do is hand himself in and confess everything to get her off but he’s not prepared to go to prison.

“The plan he comes up with is just crazy and viewers will have to see what happens next.

“It’s been a massive storyline and fans will not be disappointed as there are a few more twists and turns before its climax.”
