Jane Moore has confessed she signed up for I'm A Celebrity after being reminded that "our time on this planet is short" and that she wants "adventure" in her remaining years.
The Loose Women regular, 62, is one of the stars heading into the Australian jungle for the new series of the ITV show, which starts this month. She had previously turned down a stint in camp but felt differently this year and decided to say yes to I'm A Celeb bosses.
Writing in The Sun, Jane said when she was asked before she was married and her daughters were younger, plus she didn't see herself as a "celebrity". But she said that after turning 60 in 2022 she got divorced from hubby Gary Farrow, and found herself living alone as her children had moved out and her 16-year-old dog ended up being put down.

She said: "It meant that for the first time in decades, I was rattling around an empty house with lots of ‘me time’ and the opportunity to really contemplate what I want from the final third of my life. And the answer is, ‘adventure’."
Jane - who has already been snapped arriving at Brisbane Airport ahead of the series - said that she'd also lost some friends too young and wanted to "make the most of the active years I have left".
The fact that her mother is living with dementia was also a factor in her decision to sign up. "Seeing her once vibrant life being slowly eroded by Alzheimer’s has brought my own in to sharp focus and, cliché I know, reminded me that our time on this planet is short," said the TV star. "So when this once in a lifetime experience was offered to me again, my immediate thought this time was, ‘Why not?’"
Jane will be sitting around the campfire with the likes of WAG Coleen Rooney, N-Dubz star Tulisa, former boxer Barry McGuigan, social media star GK Barry and McFly's Danny Jones, who are confirmed for the show and already landing in Australia.
Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, radio DJ Melvin Odoom, former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse and radio's Dean McCullough have also signed up.
Love Island beauty Maura Higgins and the Rev Richard Coles have yet to be officially confirmed as contestants, but they are expected to join the camp. Their names have been in the mix for some time but when the official list of campers was unveiled this week they were not on it. However, it's thought the TV star pair will be late arrivals.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! starts on November 17.
