Did Princess Diana look older than her age?

I think Diana looks quite youthful in these pictures, so it would be interesting to see what someone else sees as youthful. I suspect it comes down to different perspectives and different preferences in terms of looks.

Isn’t Meghan 36? She looks much younger than Diana.

I think she looks her age.
Not younger - not older.

Natural beauty w/not a hint of cosmetic surgery.
Very real as well as relatable.

Yes, quite possible these women use botox, but even without it, just the way they move, dress and carry themselves is much younger.

Kate does use botox. Not while pregnant and probably not while nursing. She tans tans tans though, and that will age the heck out of a person. See famous redheads who are aging well - they learned early to slather on the sunscreen (Julianne Moore, Susan Sarandon).

I always thought that the Middleton women looked older than their age because they are huge fans of tanning.

Trendy short haircuts in the late 90s looked more like a short "Rachel" - think Jenna Elfman as Dharma. Diana's haircut was not fashion forward even in the 90s, but honestly, I think Meghan is the most fashion forward British Royal we've ever seen. I don't know why Kate can't dress more like Crown Princess Mary or Queen Letizia, but she doesn't. I do like her, also love Meghan and Diana.

Kate looks a little younger I think.

I think she looks older, but I definitely think the hairstyle accounts for most of why I feel that way. If I focus on her face and try to tune out the hair, she does has a fresh faced appeal. I notice her crows’ feet, but makeup formulas weren’t as great then, and she didn’t seem to cake on nearly as much products like most women in the public eye do nowadays. I don’t have crows feet yet (I’m 38) but plenty of women that are her age do.

She died when I was a senior in HS and I look at pictures and that cut was definitely NOT still in style for women in their 30s and 40 (which my mom and all friends moms were at the time) it was dowdy. It was the late 90s, that cut is more an updated version of an 80s cut. It looked sleeker than her 80s version but was outdated. That said I think she did look a little older and so what? Some women don't have the best skin, I don't necessarily think of most British women as aging well (not all of course, but most!)

It was not an "outdated" haircut in 1997. I had my first child in 1997, had a similar haircut, as did many of my friends at the time. You have no idea what you're talking about.

And those of you who think she looks older than her age are nuts. Compare her to Kate Middleton who is now 36, same age Diana was when she died - they look the same age.

This thread is a year old.

Plus who cares. What is the point of not letting her RIP.

The only thing that matters is she wasn't able to grow old.

Yes, any mother would have loved to see her children grow up and getting married, having children ...

Long hair is over rated. Most middle aged women would like tired and drag-down with long hair without plenty of plastic surgery, make up and hair products.

Kate looks older than her age too in my opinion, but it is mostly down to her terrible makeup. That dark ring of black eyeliner all the way around the eye that all the Middleton women insist on is a really harsh look, especially in the daytime. [/quote]

Amen! She literally wears it 100 percent of the time! A little less liner and some botox would go VERY far with Kate. I personally prefer Diana's beauty but I know my perceived beauty of her is very highlighted with her personality and charisma.

To me, this make up is really, really tacky - it's the epitome of Jersey shore gaudy- which makes it even more ironic! But she is beautiful and can get away with it. Wonder what she'd look like otherwise...

Yes, it looks like she went to some Estee Lauder mall department store counter 20 years ago and was taught how to do makeup and hasn't changed a thing since. It's not flattering and only looks more severe as you age. The blush is pretty garish too.

She looks older and I think it had to do with the hair and eye make up, and probably just her genetics. However, she was beautiful and she had something so special about her, captivating, charismatic and endearing- magical. It's one of those things that you are just born with.

I don't think comparing her to hollywood women is fair. Most of those women do a lot to keep the youthful look with surgeries, botox and expensive lotions. Diana was more natural.
