If you've ever wished your morning yogurt parfait was a litte more boozy and lot less boring, this dairy-inspired spirit might be for you. Bols, the Dutch brand known for its gin, has created a yogurt liqueur that jumps on the tangy trend. Frankly, we're having a hard time forming an opinion about it.
While this concoction ($17.99) saw little success after its initial unveiling in 2012, it has recently surged in popularity thanks to the ever-growing yogurt-loving population. (Yogurt was voted official state snack of New York, after all.) Of late, bartenders in Florida have been using the low calorie spiked beverage as a substitute for coconut milk in Piña Coladas. As a result, sales have since taken off. The brand suggests pouring the milky liqueur over fresh berries or cakes, like a tres leches, but—for the record—we're thinking this could be a total game changer for White Russians and fro-yo recipes, too.
Even though Bols is currently marketing the drink with the Skinny Colada crowd in mind, you can still drink it on the rocks. Just keep in mind Market Watch's description of its distinct flavor: "It falls somewhere in that strange and scary zone between milk and water." So we won't be surprised if and when some Kroll Show jokes surface.
