A well known and established Swadlincote shop announced that they will be closing down at the end of January due to "reasons out of our control".
The popular shop on High Street, Curly Magpie & Friends, announced on Facebook that this will be their last Christmas in an emotional goodbye post to their loyal customers on Tuesday, December 24. The shop has been a prominent fixture in the centre of Swadlincote for the past decade, selling handmade gifts and vintage homeware.
A spokesperson for the shop said: "Today will be our last Christmas Eve in the shop, unfortunately for reasons out of our control Curly Magpie & Friends will permanently close at the end of January 2025.
"We are all very sad but thankful for your support over the last nearly 10 years on the High Street in Swadlincote. Please follow Curly Magpie for event updates and news on new ventures as we are working hard to keep us on our High Street in 2025. Please keep your fingers crossed. Please look out for our massive closing down sale."
In reaction to the news, hundreds of loyal customers have rushed to show their support in the post's comments, expressing how much they will miss their beloved shop and wishing the owners well in their new ventures.
Staff also thanked the customers who have since shown their support over the Christmas period.
