When Justin fires Tori as his doctor, Christian tries to placate Justin himself. Despite Justin's constant denial about being an addict, he asks Christian if he is willing to write him a prescription without Tori or Leah knowing. Christian refuses, leaving Justin at a loss.
Tori and Christian bicker over Justin's situation, with Tori finding any reason to blame Christian for the situation. But Leah calms them, agreeing they all missed the signs to Justin's addiction.
Justin tries to abscond from the hospital while the trio are distracted, throwing Christian against the wall when he attempts to stop Justin from leaving. In the tussle, Justin falls over, with his face first against the floor. When they offer to help him, Justin demands they all get out of his room.
They finally convince Justin they have a pain consultant coming to assist him with his medication, which dramatically changes his attitude. Tori and Christian are able to put their differences aside and make up, but still fall short of cementing their love for each other.
Tori is horrified to arrive at the hospital the next morning to find Christian sleeping in Rachel's room and Justin is missing.
Meanwhile, Roo admits the early morning starts are more difficult than she imagined. She questions her dad about what's really going on with Justin, but Alf is true to his word and doesn't give much away other than telling Roo and Marilyn how Leah will need all the support they can give.
Leah finally confides in Roo, Marilyn and Alf about Justin's accidental overdose, still blaming herself for his addiction. When Justin absconds from the hospital the following morning, Alf finds him alone on the beach and calls Leah.
Justin talks with Leah, still dismissing his addiction. He blames all his actions on his pain and nothing else, but he's still reluctant to go to the hospital to get the support he needs. Alf tells Roo that Martha's doctors called, and things are going so well that they want to discuss her coming home.
Elsewhere, Rachel and Jasmine start to bond but once Rachel bumps into Christian, the two are drawn to one another again. Christian falls asleep on the chair in Rachel's room after a long night of talking together.
When Rachel and Tori come face-to-face, Tori accuses Rachel of being overly involved with her fiancé, and nothing Rachel says is making it better for Tori.
Christian is furious and it's obvious to the couple that so much is unresolved between them. Tori doesn't understand why Christian is prioritising a stranger over her – she begs him to tell her what to do.
Also today, Ari orchestrates a weekend away with Mia to take their mind off trying to fall pregnant.
