Josh hates Terese's plans to buy the gym and make it part of Lassiters, but he doesn't tell her as he fears upsetting her. Naomi steps in and convinces Josh to pitch an alternative to the gym owner Ricky. Ricky admits that Terese caught him at a low moment and agrees to reconsider selling if Josh can raise membership substantially in the next month.
When Terese finds out via Ricky, Lauren is on hand to offer some sage advice. When Terese arrives home she vents to Brad, but Brad uses the same turn of phrase that Lauren did earlier, inadvertently revealing the fact that he has confided in Lauren. Terese is angry but she quickly loses steam, allowing herself to sink into Brad's arms for a brief moment. Trying to keep her family together is making her an emotional wreck.
Meanwhile, Georgia is devastated when told by Jessica Girdwood that she'll never sing again, and it's simply down to bad luck due to the formation of scar tissue after her operation. Georgia later asks Karl if it's possible that anything could have gone wrong with her surgery and pleads with him to ask Jessica. Jessica refutes any suggestion of it being her fault, even though Karl mentions that a nurse had previously expressed dismay about how the surgery went.
Later, Karl reassures Georgia that nothing went wrong, but Georgia later sees him and Jessica heading off to a social function together, and it's a shock to see them so friendly with each other. Georgia now does some digging of her own and later confronts Karl and Jessica, accusing them of covering up the truth about what really happened in the surgery.
Elsewhere, Paige and Brennan arrange to have their first official date at The Waterhole. Paige turns up to the date looking a million dollars in a vintage dress she has just bought, but Brennan is aghast to see her standing there in one of Kate's dresses!
