I worked with Mike for many years, and considered him a friend. His kindness and compassion were must exceptional. 

We are thankful and honored to have had the opportunity for GOD to place Michael in our lives for even the short period that we enjoyed!  We felt privileged just to have been able to share in his life. Thank you GOD for the gift of such a sweet spirit and we hope to meet with him again!

I was saddened to hear the news that Mike Ahern had passed away. I have known Mike for over 40 years, and he was a good and true friend. 

He was a devout Catholic, and a true Irishman, kind to all folks who were lucky enough to know him on life's great journey, and was never too busy to stop and help someone out whenever he could.

Above all he was a humble man of God, never putting himself first. 
He will not be found wanting! 

He has gone to a better place where all his worries and cares have been laid at the feet of Jesus.

I have been friends with Mike Ahern since 1971, all through the time he lived in New York.
I also knew his fine family then, mother and brother, who have both long since passed on, may the Lord rest them.
Since his move to Washington, Mike and I lost touch a bit, but still we talked on the phone from time to time and whenever we visited Washington we were sure to meet him for lunch or dinner.
Over the many times Mike and I shared a drink together I always found him to be great company, very witty, and always a good listener. 

He was a humble man, yet he had a brilliant mind, which perhaps often went unnoticed by others since he was such an unassuming type of manNo, he always placed far more importance on the welfare of others than of his own.

I write this as a tribute to a great man, honest to a fault, who spent his short time on this earth with a smile on his face and a kind word for all.

May his soul forever rest in peace in the company of The Lord.
