What was just rumors in 2021 is shaping up as a possible reality now. Since Chapter 1 of Fortnite concluded in 2019, fans have long missed the OG map and have been begging for it to return. Though players could revisit it with the fan-made recreations in Creative 2.0, it seems Epic Games has finally listened to the wishes of fans and decided to do a month-long throwback.

Of course, there are also other ways for players to revel in the past through the popular battle royale game, but this marks the first time Epic Games has truly brought players back to the original map in both Battle Royale and Zero Build mode. Here's what you need to know if you want to take advantage of the OG map.

The OG 'Fortnite' map is coming back with these updates.

Starting in November, Chapter 4 Season OG brings the last 6 seasons of the first chapter back to the popular battle royale title, beginning with Season 5. Players can now drop back into the Tilted Towers and find weapons, skins, and much more that have been vaulted since the season concluded, giving a rare chance to collect some long-unseen items.

Along with the map and some skins, the OG battle pass is also live as part of this throwback. Through this, players will be able to unlock plenty of old skins that have been in the vault for some time now — meaning that rare skin you've been trying to track down could be yours if you log back into the game right now.

But Season 5 won't last long! Epic Games is rolling out a new patch each week, reintroducing pieces from Season 5 through Season X. You can check out the Fortnite blog to see a breakdown of all of the weapons that will be returning to the game with these updates, but you won't want to miss out on the limited-time rewards and items.

You can also still play on the OG map using Creative Mode.

One of the best creator teams, Atlas, revealed they were working on making the OG Fortnite map shortly after the Creative 2.0 announcement from Epic Games.

The team also created a separate Twitter account for the OG map to share progress and announcements for the project, but it appears to be live for players to dive into right now.

The creator team dropped an early bird's eye view of the original map on March 17 via Twitter to show their progress. Locations such as Tilted Towers, Wailing Woods, and Retail Row appeared in their original spots all those years ago.

If you happened to miss the Epic Games revival of the original Fortnite map, you can always play it again in Creative Mode. We know it's not the same, but thanks to this creation by Atlas, you can have a healthy dose of nostalgia at any time.
