LINCOLN, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Heat Advisory from Noon to 7:00pm on Independence Day across central Illinois.
According to the National Weather Service, Heat Index values are expected to range from 102 to 107 degrees on the 4th of July.
They are advising that residents take the following precautions to avoid heat-related illness:
- Reduce/eliminate outdoor activities
- Dress in lightweight/light-colored clothing
- Drink plenty of water
- Spend time in the air-conditioning, avoid as much sun as possible
- Never leave children/pets unattended in vehicles
