Rating Summary
This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of a musician (the Bard) who engages in a quest to rescue a princess. From a top-down perspective, players traverse maze-like dungeons and use swords, daggers, and bows to kill fantastical creatures (e.g., goblins, giant rats, centaurs) in melee-style combat. Players can summon additional monsters (e.g., ogres, demonic dogs) and human allies (e.g., knights, archers) to fight enemies. Battles are frenetic with cries of pain and screen-shaking effects. Spurts of blood appear as enemies are injured/killed; blood sometimes pools under enemies' bodies. The game contains some suggestive material: female characters wearing revealing outfits (i.e., deep cleavage); dialogue with innuendo/double entendre (e.g., “I enjoy a man with a quick tongue”; "You wouldn't want to be the only man in town she hasn't had a go with, would you?”); a barmaid leading a man to her room so he can "avail himself of all the pleasures that the Inn has to offer." During the course of the game, players can encounter drunken characters with slurred speech; in one sequence, drunken characters sing a song about beer. The words “a*s,” “p*ssed,” and “bastard” are heard in the game.
