There will be delays on some major roads in Essex this week, due to road closures and roadworks. As half term has now been and gone, the county's roads will become busier again, so it's advisable to plan ahead to make sure you don't get stuck in traffic caused by roadworks.

The A12 continues to cause delays for motorists as the project rebuilding the Margaretting Bypass carries on. National Highways has said that on Monday, June 5, they will begin carrying out work to prepare the foundations of the carriageway on the bypass ahead of laying the new, asphalt road surface.

This week we've got some roadworks and road closures on the A12 up and down the county, as well as on smaller local roads, so it's even more important to plan ahead. Below you'll find a list of all the roadworks you need to be aware of in Essex over the coming week. If you think we've missed any, be sure to get in touch with us via e-mail at [email protected].
