Be they former researchers or fellows, the EUI welcomes the strong attachment our alumni feel toward the Institute, especially their willingness to continue to engage with it and be part of its life.
For the EUI, alumni represent a fundamental source of advice and political support, as well as a resource in curriculum development and a reference point for our researchers as they seek to build their own careers. Indeed, we want to keep in touch and continue interacting not only with researchers who have completed their Ph.D.s or LLMs, but also with those who have participated in our Max Weber, Jean Monnet, and Fernand Braudel Fellowship Programmes.
Accordingly, in line with most other higher education institutions, the European University Institute provides a set of basic services to the alumni community. All categories of our alumni are entitled to a free email address (@alumni.eui.eu or @alumnifellows.eui.eu), allowing them to keep in touch among themselves and with the EUI. They also have the possibility to access the EUI premises, use the EUI library during opening hours, and borrow books while they are visiting.
The Institute is also organising a series of activities and events, both in Fiesole and across Europe, to bring the community together. For the moment, a pilot series of ‘EUI in Brussels’ events has been launched.
If you are organising or know of an event bringing together your fellow alumni, let us know. We are counting on you to share this kind of information so that we can do our part in helping you get the word out to the alumni community.
