Písomné vysvetlenia hlasovania

I voted in favour of this resolution as it builds upon the European Parliament's budgetary powers in ensuring the scrutiny over the Union's resource sufficiency in delivering its immediate and long-term goals with a view to the digital and green transition. The resolution highlights the key elements in magnifying the EU's digital transition, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, countering foreign interferences and disinformation, safeguarding the critical infrastructure and upholding the safe digital space. As for the green transition, the resolution advances the energy and environmental policies echoing the necessity to enable the smooth renewables transition and CO2 emission regulation.

Písomné vysvetlenia hlasovania

I voted in favour of this resolution as it calls for synergising the efforts in countering the human rights violations taking place amid the armed conflict between the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Rwanda-backed militias located in the eastern part of Congo. The protracted conflict entails mass deportations, the physical and sexual violence, permanent attacks on civilians and other atrocities. In order to bring the lasting and sustainable peace in the region, the justice shall be served via holding the criminals accountable and liberating the people from any form of oppression. The resolution calls for enhancing the diplomatic efforts and amplifying multilateral mechanisms ensuing the halt of hostilities and inflicted atrocities.
