Heritage at Risk (2026)

Camp for young restorers in Paneunė, Lithuania

In our rapidly changing societies, and in the face of challenges such as increasing digitization, the accelerating movement of people, the climate crisis and conflict of all kinds, much of our heritage, both tangible and intangible, is at risk of erosion. This theme asks questions about how we prioritize and protect cultural heritage, by offering an opportunity to raise awareness of the critical risks confronting our built and natural environment, and how we might preserve it for future generations. This theme highlights the importance of preserving the cultural and historical identity of all communities.
