Earlier this year, David Duchovny played an 11-date European tour, ending with a show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Yes, that David Duchovny, most famous for portraying paranormal investigator Fox Mulder in the hit TV series The X-Files, and Hank Moody in the equally successful Californification, who now has a parallel career as a musician. And he’s doing rather well.

After picking up the guitar for the first time in 2011 he’s released two albums, with, compared favourably to Wilco, R.E.M and Leonard Cohen. And unlike some Hollywood stars who’ve developed a sideline in music, Duchovny writes his own material, putting together chords on an acoustic guitar and building from there. These are the songs that got him here.
