GETTING LOST AND FOUND
I am a late arrivee at the altar of satnav. Until we went to Europe last year I had never used satnav to find my way around anywhere. Without satnav I found my way around and then out of Paris OK, then on to Calais and Le Shuttle as well as all around the south of England. But after getting lost twice navigating the inner streets of London, our back-seat passenger got so angry with my luddite-like refusal to use the satnav, she leaned across to the front, got it going and we soon found what we were looking for.
Lesson learnt.
From that point on, for most, but not all, of our roamings across the UK and Europe we let Madame Google help us find our way. Most, but not all!
However, since returning home I have never used it for anything. I could not do my ‘travel’ stories using satnav – I find it turns me into a bit of a zombie, and I’m so busy listening for instructions I tend to take no notice of what
