kay, so I gained some weight in my semi-retirement and yeah-yeah into my 60s now. Maybe my wife, Karen, had a point that I should begin hunting closer to home … and I tried, really, I tried. I set up a blind on a nearby private parcel that seemed sufficient: thick laurel, droopy hemlocks, tall white oaks and every native fern, but what turned out to be a double-edged sword was the parcel being bordered by state game lands. It is probably good to have some hunters moving about, which you could count on from public land, but never underestimate the proclivity of creative trespassers
