It’s in the doing

or as long as I can remember, I have suffered from social anxiety. Feelings of not-enough plagued me during work meetings, family dinners and even with friends. After a breakup just before lockdown in Sydney, I was living alone. I’m 34 years old and I found. In some ways I reverted to a childlike state. I’ve been forced to change my priorities post-lockdown. With no other distractions I was forced to listen to where these anxieties for coming from. A need to be close to people became evident. Now I’m aligning my want to be close to people. So I’m actively dropping self-judgement, reaching out to friends more and going with the flow when it comes to social outings.
