When was the first time rock and roll was played and how did this come about?
That’s the hardest question of all to answer because there is no answer! Rock and roll was so many different things but I’ll start with one hot July night in Memphis when Elvis Presley and his little trio company recorded a blues song called in Sam Phillips’ Sun Studio. He ended up putting Bill Monroe’s bluegrass classic on the B-side of the single and you have the equation right there:
