It’s a humid summer’s day in the Sardinian town of Teulada when I meet centenarian Stefano Ballisai. We’re sitting in his home, one of the many colourful terraced houses that line the cobbled streets of this quiet village, sipping a sweet dessert wine.
Teulada is the latest area of Sardinia to be named a ‘Blue Zone’, a term coined by author, explorer and longevity researcher Dan Buettner to describe the regions where people live the longest, healthiest lives.
I am here cycling around the south of the island with UTracks and Dolcevita Bike Tours, along a route that
