Green grants

Homeowners in Caerphilly County Borough can now apply for grants to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The local council is encouraging residents whose homes have solid fuel (coal) fires, back boilers or single-glazed windows to apply for a support grant to carry out green improvements. General grants of £5,000 are available, with a potential uplift to £10,000 for certain eligible works, subject to available funding. To be eligible, applicants must be an owner occupier or tenant, with a combined household income of £31,000 or less.
