I needed a rehabilitation goal, and a passing encounter with an Australian walking Te Araroa (New Zealand’s long distance walk) had me researching the Larapinta Trail. I was hooked, but it took a year to prepare. My partner and I did four multi-day hikes in the North and South Island. I joined the Larapinta Facebook page, asked questions, watched YouTube
