SAINT-SAËNS LES CLOCHES DU SOIR OP 85

ABILITY RATING INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

Including this sumptuous miniature in the scores section for is rather fitting, as it first appeared in the sheet-music supplement to the fourteenth issue of the magazine , on March 16th, 1889. On the whole, the piece requires good chord-playing and voicing. Don’t worry about the wider chords: it is completely acceptable in Late-Romantic style to roll them. With careful planning you can always turn adversity to advantage by allowing yourself extra time to negotiate any awkward corners in a musically convincing way.
