About this audiobook
This superlative translation by noted scholar and theologian R. H. Charles is one of the best and most complete available. The introduction by esoteric bookseller and antiquarian bookseller R. A. Gilbert helps place The Book of Enoch in historical context and dispels many of the dubious interpretations previously attributed to it.
The Book of Enoch's vision of the Apocalypse takes a very different view than that of western Christians, although it is part of the biblical canon for Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians. According to Enoch, the wicked shall be cast out and the good will realize a literal heaven on Earth. The prophecies also contain the lost "Book of Noah," early references to a messiah as "Christ," and an accounting of the angels and subsequent creation of demons.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a must-read for those interested in understanding the theological questions raised by the book of Enoch. However, some reviewers were disappointed with the author's personal beliefs and interruptions of the Christian faith. The book provides a historical perspective rather than a spiritual one. Overall, the book is recommended for those seeking a deeper understanding of Enoch's role in traditional Bible narratives.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I didn't like imthis version, hence the review. Ok then
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I wanted to hear the writing of enoch. Not the authors pompos dimwitted stance on religeon
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book raises so many theological questions. It really is a must read or listen for the person who is seeking to understand who Enoch was and try to put the pieces together as to why more is not said about him in our traditional Bible.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5If you’re a Christian you won’t like this PARTICULAR version. It’s the book of Enoch, but it’s set up by the writer whom is obviously NOT a Christian. There are many interruptions of the writer’s personal beliefs on the Christian faith. This includes a lengthy introduction of blasphemous comments about how the Bible and its books are nothing less than fantastical. The history reported in this book come from a theological point of view and not from a spiritual one.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Indispensable reading for all those who are interested in expanding their knowledge of the holy scriptures.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5An apocryphal book of the Old Testament. This work is apocalyptic and poetic, though lacking the sublimity of the poetry of some of the other biblical works, such as Revelation. There are traces in here of Revelation, though this work is much earlier, and as I said, somewhat less over the top and less poetic. Still, it's an interesting look at the history of religion, and in this work, it's easy to see the pagan origins of the later monotheistic religions. The references to the chariot in which the sun drives across the sky is reminiscent of the Greeks. An interesting read, but tedious at times.
