About this audiobook
A publishing phenomenon, Sean Covey and the FranklinCovey organization have become one of the most respected brands in the highly competitive world of thought leadership in business. In his latest work, Covey lays out an unprecedented plan for goal-realization that will revolutionize the way we approach our dreams.
The 4 Disciplines of Execution provides a simple, proven formula for achieving the goals that every individual or organization needs to reach. From Marriott to the U.S. Navy, Covey and his team have worked with more than 200,000 people in hundreds of organizations to improve performance, identifying and honing four secrets of perfect execution: Focus on the Wildly Important; Act on the Lead Measures; Keep a Compelling Scoreboard; and Create a Cadence of Accountability. By allowing teams to separate those urgent tasks that demand attention merely to keep a company alive—called the “whirlwind”—from new, “wildly important” goals that promise to break new ground, these disciplines empower leaders to accomplish what is by far the most difficult aspect of creating results: executing a strategy that requires a change in behavior. Simply put, this is a work that no business, however small or large, can afford to pass up.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Most of the time we talk of strategy. I, for one, have held for a long time that a strategy without a plan for execution, is just a collection of words on paper. Similarly, an execution plan must be implemented, else it will remain words on paper. I like is that Chris has distilled the practice of implementation into four disciplines. When you think about these disciplines, it is tempting to dismiss them as common sense. In some ways, it is common sense. However, most of us also acknowledge that common sense, despite the word “common”, is rare. The principles, if implemented properly, can transform your business, or any business initiative. The author has included links to videos in the book. I like this. Inserting the QR codes at various points in the book is excellent. I dislike the last 100 pages of the book. Chris appears to have dedicated these pages to hard selling their tools and services. This, at least, was my lasting impression. It diluted the impact of the book. Barring this hard sell, the book is excellent. It’s written in practical language, devoid of all but the most necessary jargon.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Listening to the audio version of this book is worth my time. I learned a lot of ideas that I can use in driving performance in my organization.
The principles of 4DX are truly remarkable. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5One of the books in business that focuses on practical ways to succeed, the first part for me was the best. For the remaining I think a printed copy is needed to get the most of it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The 4 disciplines of execution is amazing book. Book is business oriented but I believe that techniques can be easily used for personal goals as well.
