About this ebook
Jesus Christ - king of kings and lord of lords. synopsis
By Doug Vermeulen
And He is the Beginning, Source, Compound unity, Singular One, Oneness.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1 - 3
Book 1 covers the Lordship of Jesus Christ and shows this in four different ways.
* In Matthew we find
Jesus the King
Purple is the color symbol of royalty wealth, and prosperity.
The Lion is the symbol of Kingship, royalty, courage, and boldness, of good persons. Jesus is referred to as the `Lion of the tribe of Judah' in Revelation 5:5.
.....and asked, "Where is the one who has been born the King of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him Matthew 2:2,
* In Mark we find
Jesus the servant Savior
Scarlet is the color symbol of suffering, sacrifice, sin, and the color of blood.
[Also the (sacrificial) ox can be seen as symbolizing servant hood.]
`....and they told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.Mark 1:31,
* In Luke we find
Jesus the perfect man
Represented by White linen -
Thus symbolizing righteousness
[The Son being the work of the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit's Work is to help complete the work of Jesus on the earth today.]
`The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only [Son], who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
* In John we find
Jesus as the Son of God
Here the color Blue [symbol of heaven and authority] comes to the fore.
The properties of the eagle [symbol of swiftness of flight] are manifested in this book.
"I have seen and testify that this is the Son of God."John 1:34,
In all of the series we will find expressed the concept of : -
Corporate responsibility and individual freedom of function.
Individual freedom of function and corporate responsibility.
Unity in diversity
Diversity in unity
Corporate responsibility is defined in the following scripture:
"The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'Matthew 25:40
It is obvious from the above scripture that Jesus sees no separation between Himself and His Body. What happens to the one is regarded as happening to the other.
His Body would be a company of people who are aware of corporate responsibility in matters of mutual concern to each other.
An individual is a single or particular person, special not general. That will be an individual person having a distinct character or characteristic of a particular person [designed for use by one person]. A single member of a class or a single human being as distinct from a family or group
Any or all of these attributes would be discernible within the Individual who is part of the Body of Christ.
Freedom of function would be personal or civic liberty; absence of slave status, the power of self-determination; the quality of not being controlled by fate or necessity. It would also involve the state of being free to act; both individually and to the corporate good.
A clear pattern already exists for us in the Godhead.
