Chapter 1
It was one of those moments when everything seemed fuzzy – as if it were happening in a dream. This was the kind of cloud that a dentist would create for a patient undergoing a root canal. It was both surreal and authentic at the same time.
Leslie and Holly could hardly believe their eyes. There they were staring straight at a series of photos featuring Leslie completely nude.
Holly couldn’t help but wonder what other surprises might be hidden away in Leslie’s past. There was still the issue about the court documents she saw – and then recently, that comment that her lawyer made to both of them by mistake.
Apparently, Holly’s feelings of doubt and suspicion were apparent on her face. As she slowly turned to look at her friend, Leslie was very quick to defend herself.
Holly, don’t even think it!
scolded Leslie. Do you see that mole on that girl’s lower right shin?
Yes,
answered Holly.
Leslie pulled up the bottom of her slacks to expose her own lower right shin. See, I don’t have one.
Holly still had a slight look of disbelief – mostly from the shock of everything.
Leslie strengthened her own defense even more by pulling up her own blouse and bra exposing her breasts.
Seriously, do my boobs like hers?
asked Leslie.
No, they don’t,
admitted Holly. But you have to admit, you’d be wondering the same thing if the tables were turned.
Yeah, I know.
Well, obviously these are fakes,
confirmed Holly.
Leslie picked up her phone and dialed. She informed her lawyer Mr. Hatley that the photos were fakes and that she could easily prove that fact. She listened to his feedback and hung up a few minutes later.
What did he say?
asked Holly.
He said that it really didn’t matter – just having something like that emailed to them was enough to scare the potential donors away. They probably wouldn’t doubt the truth, but prefer not to be associated with such a story in any way.
Kind of like someone being wrongly charged with rape or child abuse – even if they’re proven to be innocent, the stain of the accusation remains.
Exactly the example he provided.
Well, one thing’s for sure,
stated Holly.
What’s that?
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who was probably behind all that.
Perhaps, but why? I am no longer spending time with Rick Musher’s cousin any more. Why would he still be grinding an ax for me?
Who knows? That dude needs some serious mental health.
"I guess a bigger concern would be how in the hell did he know that we were trying to find donors in the first place?

Bobby was really becoming an asset for his father’s international sales division. He was beginning to understand how the construction parts that the company manufactured made their way across the globe.
It was more than just putting the goods on a freightliner and watching them sail away. There were fluctuations in shipping costs, availability of ports, and last but not least – there was the ever important currency exchange rates that had to be considered.
In the beginning, Robert Black had been passing lots of different reports and documents to his son just to get him familiar with the process. But now, he was able to give his son actual work to perform – calculations to check, shipments to verify, foreign accounts to confirm, and the like.
Bobby loved it – not only because he found the business fascinating, but because he was also enjoying the time he was spending with his father. It had been years since father and son had been so close.
One day, Robert Black walked into the office that Bobby was using. He had a look of reluctance on his face. Bobby was reviewing a spreadsheet of sales figures and hadn’t noticed.
Son, there’s something I think you should know about,
said Robert Black.
Bobby looked up and saw the concern on his father’s face.
Gosh, what in the world is it, Dad?
he asked.
I really don’t know how concerned you’d be about this, but I feel it’s my duty to pass it along to you.
Pass along what?
Alden Gregory was telling me about a charitable opportunity that was presented to him last week by two ladies about your age.
Yeah?
He really liked the presentation and was thinking about funding them. But a few days later he got this email.
Robert Black dropped a folder in front of his son. Bobby opened the folder and his facial expression indicated his shock and surprise.
Goodness!
Yes, I didn’t know if you still had any feelings towards her, but I thought you should know about this.
Well thanks Dad, for having my back, but these aren’t real pictures of Leslie.
Bobby knew they were fakes for the same reasons that Leslie knew they were fakes.
Really? How can you be so sure?
Bobby tilted his head, Really Dad? Do you want me to get graphic with you? I’m telling you that these photos are fakes.
Okay, I get your drift. But why would someone do that to Leslie?
Oh, I know exactly who was probably behind this.
Who?
My pathetic cousin, that’s who!
But you’re no longer hanging out with Rick – and you’re no longer seeing Leslie either.
"I know, Dad. But
