Chapter One
Dedication
I would like to dedicate this book to my family:
To my wife who has been putting up with my crap since my black belt test; she has also been the receiver of my side kick which I will never live down.
My son, Cole. I never thought the day would come when the two of us would train together; sharing ideas and trading techniques.
My daughter, who I have never accidently
punched or kicked.
My parents, who took me to my first karate class back in 1980. They raised me with the Spirit of the Bushido. That’s not what they called it but it was good morals and ethics.
Most importantly a big thank you, goes to Ashley C. Harris, who has helped and guided me through the book writing process. You meet people for a reason; Ashley is truly one of those people I was meant to meet. I couldn’t have come this far without her. Thank you, Ashley.

, that started to resonate with me. A Chicken Soup kind of thing.
I started thinking about who and
