Introduction
Monster
Monsters are mythical creatures like dragons, giant mammals and creatures that have unique features. For children, monsters are always the main antagonist of some movies, books, etc.
Honestly, making a monster character is a bit complicated, but the good thing about it is you can freely draw without thinking too much of its face or any other physical looks.
Any weird looking creatures can be a monster; there are many kinds of monsters that are usually famous in many fairytales that you have heard even in your childhood days, for example dragon, Cyclops, and really big serpents.
Now, this tutorial will help you instantly learn how to draw a monster. Also this could help you build your very own fairytale or story with some monster enemy.
Things Needed
Before you begin with the tutorial, let us first prepare the exact tools you will need in order to precede on this tutorial. Below are the lists you will need:
•Pen or Ball point pen
•Pencil
•Scratch paper or used paper (make sure that the back portion is blank)
•Clean Paper
•Eraser
•Coloring materials (Optional)
Exercise Your Hands!
This is the very important part for this tutorial, you should let you hands exercise to be more comfortable when you start drawing.
Make a spiral line, curvys, and circles with different sizes. Make silly lines just to work out your hands, below is a sample drawing of some lines you should draw to exercise.

Chapter 1 Characteristics of a Monster
A monster usually looks scary and creepy because of their physical features. These features are very important in order to build your monster character. I listed some of the important features of a typical monster.
•Big Scary Eyes – usually monster does have big round eyes with small pupil to look like he is angry.
•Fangs – this usually maks the monster’s character more creepy and ferocious.
•Wings – now don’t be confused; I am not referring to those little cute fairy or butterfly wings but wings like a bat is what I am talking about, it makes them stronger.
•Mutant – (I am not talking about Marvel
ok!) monster usually combines two different kinds of animals; it’s like they were mutated.
•Scary Nails – monsters usually have scary big nails.
•Weir Faces – monster’s main features are their looks, it is important to make them weirder to capture the true identity of a monster’s character.
Types of Monster
There are many types of monsters that you will learn about in this tutorial. I classify them as Flying Monster, Water Monster
