Chapter I: Introduction
Women of all ages have faced menopause without specifically knowing what it would mean for them. You probably knew that the hot flushes and other symptoms go hand in hand with menopause, but even this is not always true. The truth is that you may never experience a hot flush. If you do, then it will probably take years before you become menopausal. The common knowledge about menopause is often dominated by misinformation and myth. This is why it is extremely important to do homework and get educated, whether you are a man or a woman.
Be informed
If only a few people is concerned with menopause, then the lack of information might still be understandable. The fact that over half of the world’s population will one day become menopausal means it is extremely crucial to get well-informed. Menopause is not a disease, but a natural process in a woman’s life.
The pharmaceutical industry has always seen great opportunity in this natural process, and more research is underway. If you want to search for information to help women enjoy the menopausal phase, you will need to dig deeper into those books because there is not much public information about it.
You can search for some academic articles, but they might not be able to help you pick out straightforward information to your practical questions. This book, however, can fill that missing link. The goal is to help you make informed and objective health decisions based on your experience with menopause.
