INTRODUCTION
This journey of slavery is written in the sincere hope that the offspring of African slaves scattered throughout the Western Hemisphere, and other lands will better understand their identity in relation to their past ancestry. Knowing whom they were, they will appreciate who they are. The present system of governments is the result of past establishments, some of which are rooted in corruption, and established in deceit. This deceit has affected Diaspora Africans negatively, and unless corrections are made and put in place, the future for Diasora Africans will continue to be grim.
The scriptures have shown who the enslaved Hebrews were, that resided in Egypt, during the height of that nation’s military stronghold. We will examine the chronological order of six ancient world powers, including Egypt, which participated in the trade of the slaves who left Egypt about 1150-1050 B.C.E., culminating in African slavery in the West. This journey illustrates the prophetic fulfillment of prophecies written over three thousand years ago.
It will be interesting to learn the way in which preceding world powers ended that enslaved the people of the True God. Although there have been other powerful nations in the past, with measures of dominance, what sets the nations here under discussion apart, is that they have all enslaved what the Bible terms the ‘Chosen People of God’. Those powerful nations of the past that enslaved the Hebrews, worshipped idols and images, their demise was foretold in scripture.
Africans of the Diaspora must learn about their past ancestry, because that knowledge is knowledge of self. Affecting the way in which they think and the way in which they behave in relation to their own people. Knowing the past will help Diaspora Africans to make decisions for the present and future. How sad it has been for a people with the greatest heritage on earth to live completely oblivious of it.
Attention must be paid to what the Son of the Most High meant when he said Seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened, ask and you will receive.
(Matt.7:8). King Solomon, a man credited with great wisdom, stated in his writings, Cry after knowledge and … lift up [your] voice for understanding, search for knowledge and dig for it as for hidden treasure
(Prov. 2:3-6). How right these servants of God were.
The emperor Constantine 1, a man who achieved everything by the sword, when struck with leprosy on his dying bed; said Not the sword; Knowledge.
Nothing is given without efforts made to achieve, that is why the Son of God, who was sent to earth with a message, mentioned what He said at Matthew 7:8. Do not expect those who have enslaved your forefathers, and mothers, and among them those who today are doing their utmost to keep you in an oppressed condition, to teach you about yourself. You are responsible for your own education. As a people, most Africans of the Diaspora, have been too lethargic, nonchalant and downright lazy when it comes to seeking knowledge of self. There is no sense of self worth, unless there is knowledge as to self-identity. It is hard to know where you are going, when you are not sure from whence you came; you cannot grow without roots.
It is such a load carrying a false identity, for it makes a great difference when you know your name, and that is the reason why it was taken from you. The ancient Egyptians believed that when a man loses his name he ceases to exist. It is true Diaspora Africans has no language of their own, for language also binds people together, yet they do have a history book about their ancestry, the greatest history book ever written, by Black people about Black people. Yes! The men who were inspired to write scripture, when their places of origin is carefully examined, there is no room left for doubt as to their identity. White men did translate the scripture with measures of corruption, especially with names. It has been reported that it is not from the want of trying to remove Egypt and Ethiopia that these nations stand on African soil. If it were possible to remove these countries, the Bible characters could be altered erasing Black people.
So no one should call the Bible the White man’s book. There is not a Black person reading the Bible who will fail in seeing himself there. From Genesis to Revelation, Adam made by God’s own hand from the dust of the earth, could not have been any other complexion but black or brown. Noah’s sons and their wives; the land from which they originated was Sumer, in Mesopotamia and its earliest inhabitants were black people. (Universal History of the World; Where Civilization Began" 4000 B.C. – 1750 B.C Vol.I pages 20-21 depicts images of the likeness of the Sumerians.
Indeed, many Africans are the offspring of the Hebrews who left Egypt led by Moses on their way to Canaan (Palestine). The recent discovery of the Lemba in a remote village in southern Africa leaves no doubt that the people of this community are the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Genetic testing proved that their leader, and ten percent of the men descended from Aron, Moses brother, proving they are of the priestly class. Not only the Lemba; but in many countries of Africa, Black Israelites are now present. Although these people knew who they were for thousands of years, it was not until European experts on Jewish history, gave their stamp of approval could they be recognized internationally as what is termed Jews.
Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us and Israel acknowledge us not
(Isa. 63:16).
Consider the Continent of Africa, before, as the Encyclopaedia Britannica states Mechanics of Continental Evolution
is in doubt, great and gigantic engineering has been put into operation to divide the Continent of Africa from the Near East (Enc. Brit. Geological History of Africa Vol. I 1964 page.512). The Near East would be the land known as The Levant, or the coastal Mediterranean. This engineering division is said to be gigantic, yet it is dwarfed by the mechanics of mental, psychological and spiritual engineering, deception and division of African people. In the ancient world, there existed what was termed the
Tropical Continent consisting of Africa, Arabia and India. One should never forget
The ancient history of Africa is shrouded in mystery and the earliest records of that continent and its people are far from trustworthy" (Enc. Brit. 1954 Vol.1 pg.318).
At the Messiah’s birth, which took place in the town of Bethlehem, in the province of Judaea, Joseph, Mary’s husband, was told by God’s messenger, take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt [North Africa]" (Matt. 2:13). They were going in hiding from king Herod who was seeking to destroy the young child. In Egypt, the family will blend in with people of the same identity. (For at the time of Messiah’s birth great changes in race had taken place in the province of Judaea) They did not travel by boat, but by camel or donkey. A long time before this episode the prophet Moses returning to Egypt with his family from Midian, travelled by donkey (Exod 4:19-20). The artificial waterway of the Suez Canal was built and opened for shipping services on Nov. 17th 1869, thus the apparent divide of Africa from the near east became seemingly more profound.
Asia; one of the great continents of the earth’s surface, embracing the North East portion of the great land mass of the old world, of which Europe forms the North West and Africa the South West. Much doubt attaches to the origin of the name.
The Greeks divided their world into Europe and Asia, adding Libya as the name for Africa. The modern conventional boundary between Europe and Asia is arbitrary, having no geographic validity
(Enc. Brit.1954 vol.11 page 512). Europe is an extention of Asia and formerly called Eurasia.
I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehosaphat, and will plead with them there for [My] people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nation, and parted my land
(Joel 3:2.). The prophecy long ago foretold, by 63 B.C.E., the entire area of Palestine and part of North Africa was ruled by Rome. What was the land like at that time? It was all Asia. Africa Roman, this name was instituted by Rome on Carthage territory in Tunisia. In 46 B.C.E. the battle of Tapsus added Numidian [North Africa] lands to Roman rule, giving the name to this land Africa Nova and Africa Vetus. From A.D. 40-238, Rome controlled most of North Africa, and the area was called Roman Africa or Africa Roman (Enc. Brit.1954 vol.1 page 331).
Before the Roman take over of the near east; other people came to the Mediterranean; among the earliest Europeans were the Greeks, who first appeared in the eastern Mediterranean about 1200-1000 B.C.E.The Greeks called the Egyptians Hoi Aiguptoi which meant Black People.
ABOUT THE BOOK
This book tells the story of a family that began in ancient Mesopotamia about 5000 BCE, whose descendants are scattered to several nations, some of whom reside in the Americas. The journey undertaken by descendants of this family saw them through seven major world powers; where in, millions today has survived slavery. The Biblical journey of Slavery takes the reader through thousands of years to show who were this family and their current dilemma of identity in the Western world.
There are descendants of this family who are refered to as Africans of the Diaspora. The Text takes an overview of those who came to the West via the ‘Atlantic Slave Trade’. Decades spent in search of identity by a descendant of the family, is the result of, The Biblical Journey of Slavery, From Egypt to the Americas.
The narrative provides a source of enlightenment for millions of displaced Africans who lost their identity, and illustrates the fulfillment of prophecies written over 3000 years ago. There are questions about the past that haunt members of Diaspora Africans; some are addressed in this journey. Diaspora Africans frustration, bewilderment and lack of comprehension have found many avenues of expression; one of these avenues is destructive anger against self and brother.
There are lessons of history that will aid understanding and solve complex issues that currently face African nations, communities and families in the West. The text presented will shed light on misconceptions, misunderstanding and deception plaguing millions who grope for their rightful place in society.
The journey undertaken will visit ancient lands and show from maps, illustrations and undeniable evidence, episodes that connect Africans to their ancestral past that should have shaped their world. The revelation presented is a topic which time has come. Africans of the Diaspora will learn the root cause of their dilemma and the solution for healing, as visits to their ancestral lands and knowledge of their ancestral greatness and failures are revisited.
There have been recorded detailed documented plans set in place and carried out by Christian slave owners to gain control not only of the physical body of the slave but to execute physiological mastery of the Captives mind (Example: The Lynch letter). The conditions imposed on the African in Western society, created a legacy of psychological damage.
Whether Diaspora Africans’ history is hidden by circumstances or design, their dilemma is in part rooted in lack of knowledge of their history and of those who oppress them. This unfortunate scenario will continue unless changes are set in place to educate to the contrary. It is important for this generation to set a precedent that will bring about that change.
The journey From Egypt to the Americas will bring to light the Biblical Heritage of these dispersed Africans. Millions will appreciate and grasp the gravity of the present system responsible for moulding them into the spiritually twisted people the majority are today.
There are issues needed to be addressed for Diaspora Africans who search for answers relevant to their past. A past that began a long time before their ancestors were captured and enslaved in the Americas. Resounding questions include; I wonder what my real name was?
No longer satisfied with their former slave masters’ name many have changed their names reflecting their desire to connect with the past. What were the culture and religion of my forefathers?
Their confirmation to Christianity did not erase the persecution and oppression by the ones who introduced them to the religion. The most reverberated question of all, is, Why can’t Africans/Black People unite?
Why are we so hated by other races?
Why do we hate and destroy each other?
The destructive behaviour of Black on Black crime is seen presently in many former colonized African nations, in nations in the West, in nations of the industrialised world and on the Continent itself
The Bible has the answers to many questions that haunt Diaspora Africans because the Bible is a history book about African People. The prophet Moses and his wife were Black Africans; this information is found in the Bible, yet is unknown to the masses. Investigation on the characters of scripture will lead to the ancient cities of Mesopotamia/Middle East, and reveal that the early Bible Patriarchs from Mesopotamia, many of their descendants are found in remote villages of African nations and linked to Africans of the Western Diaspora.
What is learned from this book, is the result of many years of research, and brings together information from various sources to answer puzzling questions in one concise volume. It represents a foundational guide to those who have been confused about the current dilemma of identity that the African Diaspora finds itself in today, either as observers or as members.
Perhaps this may amaze many but, the original scrolls of scripture were written by Black men. Prophecies foretold thousands of years ago about Asia/Africa and its people, has shown fulfilment through the pages of history. One such prophecy, written more than three thousand years ago, points to incidents played out in the Atlantic slave trade; for example, Therefore shall thou serve thine enemies …in hunger and in thirst and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck
(Deut.28:48-50).
The Biblical Journey of Slavery stands alone among other books that chronicle the African Slave Trade, because it presents a unique union of both Biblical and secular histories on the subject. The text gives an insight into African History beyond the Pyramids. Discussions include how religions of the ancient world have influenced modern worship. The text deals with the identity and homelands of Biblical characters and the changes that occurred to the names of African tribes and places as recorded in scripture. For example, the land of Ham has been changed to Egypt, likewise the land of Kush/Cush to Ethiopia.
As the African descendants of the ancient Israelites are becoming known, the world is moved to acknowledge them as the people of Scripture. Besides recorded historical accounts, modern science has made valuable contributions to the understanding of the identity of ancient Biblical groups. One dramatic example is found in the Lemba tribe of South Africa. This group of Africans’ culture is reflective of the early Israelites. Scientists have isolated the Y chromosome that is passed from fathers to their sons unchanged. It is the only chromosome so designed and thus can be traced back thousands of years to a paternal father. The Y chromosome found in ten percent of Lemba men and the family of the Buba clan, fifty three percent carries the signature. What is significant about this particular Y chromosome found in this African tribe is that it traces a paternal lineage to Aaron, Israel’s first high priest who was the older brother of the prophet Moses. This information is relevant to the subject of the book under discussion because these Africans can trace their lineage to over three thousand years ago. African tribes in other location on the continent can also trace their Biblical lineage to the ancient Israelites.
Elements of the Christian religion have concealed scriptural truths by the use of false images and false doctrines that actually contradict scripture.
Images used in worship are a most effective medium of deception against the African people. Depictions of a white Saviour, apostles, and prophets have been perpetuated for centuries by the church and the devaluing effect of these images on Black people is not to be underestimated. This deception has been literally written in stone; resulting in a loss of identity for Africans and Black people as a whole, and has contributed to the loss of collective self worth. This loss of self-identity and self worth has resulted in suffering detrimental to their health. Hypertension as the number one killer of Diaspora Africans is no accident, the fulfilment of Bible prophecy presents undeniable evidence. It is stated in Scripture that Among these nations [the nations who enslaved the Chosen People] you will find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but the Lord [YHWH] will give you there a trembling heart and failing eyes and sorrow of mind. And your life will hang in doubt before you, and you shall have no assurance of your life
(Deut.28: 65-67). Here we find another reference of African slavery in the West.
Knowledge of the African ancestry will provide knowledge of the African himself. My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge
(Hosea 4: 6). Knowledge of self is knowledge of the Creator; thus Man know thyself
Information about African history has been difficult to find and is not widely known; and what little is known and circulated is sometimes inaccurate and portrays Black people negatively. Black people suffer because the majority do not have a clear understanding of their past history. It is necessary for the information presented in this book to be circulated, because it contains information that will benefit those who suffer the effects of inaccurate reporting of their history. The facts contained herein will dispense the necessary boost African/Black people need to restore lost faith, uphold their noble heritage, a sense of community and the desire to help their own. The never ending interrogation by the curious as to the question; where are you from?
can be answered with prideful knowledge in reference to their ancestral past. The curious will also appreciate and benefit from information coming from a people who have been too long denied their identity.
The Biblical Journey of Slavery addresses a common denominator which defined past world powers and with which the present one is infected. The enslavement of the people of God is in part a component of the denominator. The text examines the present predicament of Diaspora Africans after over 500 years as captives under severe oppression. Millions concerned about their historical ancestry could engage in meaningful discussion and find their connection to the ancient people of scripture. Knowledge of self will provide confidence and should erase the ignorance that destroys. Above all, the truth will give those of the Diaspora dignity and the will to raise themselves above the debilitating ashes of slavery. They will gain understanding why deception of their ancestry was necessary for the survival of their enemies. Africans/Blacks are now armed with a source of reference for better understanding their ancestral past.

Andrews Joyce: Bible Legacy of the Black Race; published by Winston Derek 1993
Malcioln Jose` V.: The African Origin of Modern Judaism; published by Africa World Press 1996
The above mentioned books addressed the African presence in scripture. Each book’s approach on the subject is unique.
Rudolph Windsor brought out profoundly the relationship of the early Hebrews to tribes in Ghana. He mentioned, in their villages the culture and religious practices are that which those of the exodus from Egypt maintained.
Joyce Andrews explained from scripture the fulfilment of prophecy of many African tribes which began in Egypt but whom lost the light of civilization and became primitive.
Jose` V. Malcioln emphasized on the civilization and monumental achievements of the Black Race long before there was a continent called Africa or Europe. The author gave a detailed description on the migration and settlements of early Hebrew People.
The Biblical Journey of Slavery differs from the books mentioned because it addresses every World Power in which the early Hebrews were enslaved, and the way in which ‘Divine Intervention’ brought about the demise of those nations. From Torah to New Testament it describes prophetic scriptural fulfilment; pointing to the last empire that have enslaved the Chosen People of God. The text challenges the accepted interpretation of Bible Characters, and return a legacy and heritage to the African people, which has been not so much lost as denied.
SUMMARY
In summing up our journey, you will learn about people and lands of ancient times that have a direct influence on our present civilization. The contributions that post flood Africans made to the world. You will observe the lives of the ancient Israelites and learn about their interactions with the True God and the reason why they lost His favour.
Seven nations were subdued in the land of Canaan/Palestine, in order for the Egyptian/Israelites exiles to settle there about 1150-1050 B.C.E. An overview of what caused the division of the Israelites into two nations, and how they became scattered throughout the earth. Causing both kingdoms to lose their identity, and became known as the lost tribes of Israel.
The significance of the prophet Daniel’s interpretation of a Babylonian King’s dream, and its implication on past and current empires. Through this journey, ancient empires are revisited, and much is learned from the ancient city of Carthage and Tyre.
The emergence of the Macedonian King, Alexander III, has shown the way in which Greece catapulted to world dominance that changed the world forever.
It has been of great interest to learn, what caused the Maccabean revolt in Jerusalem, and the way in which the cities of Alexandria and Judaea became compromised in accurate reporting of scriptures. The Essenes who wrote the ‘Dead Sea Scrolls’ has shown their difference with those that translated the Scrolls of scripture. The Anglo-American joint World Power fits the description of the last world power that would enslave the Chosen people of the True God. The 400 years of Israelite enslavement in Egypt is paralelled with 400 years the Atlantic Slave Trade endured for Africans.
Egypt and Anglo-America both held world dominance during the enslavement of Israelites and Africans respectively. Learn how the past world powers fared in their oppressions of the Israelites, and how the present one ends in light of Biblical prophecy. The text challenges the accepted view of the masses on characters of scripture, and will show from the Bible and secular history books where lost members of this Mesopotamian family can be found.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I was born in Guyana, South America, a former British colony (with the only English speaking people in South America), the fifth of 17 children. I was educated at primary level, equivalent to North America’s grade 8. I arrived in Montreal Canada on July 4, 1962, recruited to work as a domestic for one year. The families I worked for were white Jew who treated me with respect.
One employer thought I attended a private school in my native country, when she overheard me helping her daughter with homework. It was from this Jewish woman that I learned that the prophet Moses was a black man. Her home had quite a library, and I was permitted to read what ever books I wanted to read. Being hungry for knowledge, I found the feast exciting. It was at this time I took a correspondence course to gain high school level education.
In 1966, I graduated as a Fashion Designer from the Fashion Arts Academy in Montreal. I worked in the industry for 33 years. Early in my career, sitting at the back of the bus, on my way to work, a white woman approached me with a warm smile and asked are you Egyptian
I was startled by her question, and smilingly answered no
I could see her disappointment as her contenance changed. All that day at work, I kept asking myself WHO AM I
? WHO AM I
? I found that I had no answer. Thus, I embarked on a fact-finding mission, and what I found led me to write this book. From Egypt to the Americas: The Biblical Journey of Slavery.
I am a community worker and president of the (ACBAC) Action Committee for Black Affairs (Calgary) I have been a student of the Bible, its lands and its characters for 27 years.
Presently, I conduct African History classes, and I have been a guest speaker at several Black History month, and Caribbean Independence celebrations.
I am not a writer, and can lay no claims to writing academics, but I had a story to tell and was inspired to do so.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
My Thanks, Praise, Honour and Glory to the Supreme God, YHWH, hearer of prayers, who has granted a gift through Yahoshua a gift of insight that may benefit others.
My sincere appreciation for the support I received from my sons Stephen and Ezra; especially Stephen whom has been my sounding board for many years, Daughter, Stephanie for her interest and valuable advice. To Carol Fieulleteau to whom I am deeply indebted for her tireless editing of the first and last draft of the manuscript. To Carl Daniels, Editor of Black Film Bulletin, Middlesex University, London, England for his suggestions in order to enrich the text, to Ed Foster for the books he provided aiding my research, to Sandra Seecharan for reading and suggestions on the manuscript. Thank you all very much.
In memory of my parents, Adolphus Joseph, Minister of the Gospel and teacher of Metaphysics, Unity School of Truth; and, Stephanie Amelia Sampson.
Growing up in a large family, we were taught by our parents to appreciate Yah’s word, the Bible. Every Sunday morning about 6: am we were awakened for prayers. Half asleep, as most of us were, my father saw to it that we were washed, girls had to cover their heads; a song of praise was sung. My father read from the large family Bible where all our names were written; we then recited from the book of Psalms 1st 2nd 23rd 27th and 91st.
I can still hear my father’s opening words when we all knelt down to pray Holy, holy, holy is the Lord [Yah] God, Almighty, the heavens and the earth Oh God is full of your majesty
. Though in my youth I understood little, the Godly fear of displeasing my Creator has been a constant reminder when I find myself going astray.
I would encourage the taping of conversations with parents and grandparents; have them talk about their youthful days and experiences as far back as they can remember. Videotape them if you can; we must learn to preserve what we can of our ancestry so that we can pass it on to our children’s children, for this too is history. After the death of my mother, I brought my father to live with our family. Had I not done so I would have never known the African name of my father’s ancestry was Bani, a Hebrew name. The name Bani means posterity. A descendant of Judah whose son lived in Jerusalem after the captivity I Chron.6: 46). A Levite, Neh.9: 4. Founder of a family some of whom returned from Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel. (Ezra 2:10). The name is found in other verses of scripture.
Chapter 1
NOAH’S CHILDREN
Our journey takes us from the center of the ancient world to the Americas. We will observe the institution of slavery and one of the reasons for its development as recorded in scripture.
About 3000 B.C.E. there lived a family in Mesopotamia, whose lives have affected the three major religions of our time. These religions are Judaism, Islam and Christianity, unknown in ancient times; but were developed later, based on the lives of this one family. The Patriarch of this family was Abraham who descended from a man called Noah, or in some accounts Utnapfistim/Utnapishtim.
According to the recorded historical accounts in the Bible, the lands known presently as Mesopotamia, the Mediterranean, Arabia, Africa, and the Middle East were one land, and the people who developed the major centers of these lands were relatives. Borders created the separation of these lands or nations; the same way the nations in North America encompassing Canada, the United States and Mexico, are separated by manmade borders. The Romans did not succeed in completely separating the area called ‘Africa’ from the area called the ‘Middle East’. Asia was the name by which all the land surfaces were formerly known. Presently, Africa is joined to the Middle East at the Isthmus of Suez. Encyclopaedia Britannica states: Africa is part of an ancient continent which included most of South America, India and Australia
(1954, vol.1 pg.298).
As we travel through the pages of history, we will discover where this partly separated body of land from Asia called ‘Africa’ got its name. We will also discover why this division was crucial, and used by historical philosophers and reporters in deceiving the popular masses.
It is a general acceptance among those of the Christian faith that all the present nations on earth are derived from Biblical Noah’s family; but is it really so? There were people living on planet earth long before recorded history. All scientific data agree that Asia/Africa was the home of earliest man. Discoveries of human bones found in Africa, is more than 10,000 years old, and according to some bible students we are presently in the 6,000 era since creation. Our journey will not take us to prehistoric times; we will observe only recorded historical accounts. Most of these accounts began with Sumerian and Egyptian early developments in sciences such as language, writing - recordings by means of art, and inscriptions.
What is known by a few and thus never mentioned is that the Bible reveals the ‘Asian’ or ‘African’ identities of Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. Bible scholars have consistantly divided this family into different racial groups. However, our journey will prove otherwise, through the scriptures, geography and science.
In 3000 B.C.E., the natives of Mesopotamia and the Nile Valley were not Caucasian. In fact, these natives were the descendants from people of the earliest recorded civilizations, and it was from them that our present civilization came to be. Excavators are still finding cities beneath cities in Africa. The appearance of people called at present Europeans, in Mesopotamia, the Mediterranean, and North Africa came much later, approximately 1200-1000 B.C.E. As recorded by Robinson, Breasted, and Smith in their book Earlier Ages, (pg. 92) Origin of the Indo European Peoples refers to ancestors of the Caucasian people as tribes living like nomads moving from place to place. After years of wandering, these Northern white tribes came to Europe and Western Asia. A section of these northern tribes became known as Indo Europeans, and was probably occupying the pasture lands on the east and northeast of the Caspian Sea about 3000 B.C.E. Some of the tribes had settled down and farmed a little, but their civilization was still that of the Stone Age except for some slight used copper.
In contrast, the Mesopotamian, Mediterranean and Asian/African civilizations were highly developed, well beyond the Stone Age, with Egypt being the most celebrated of these civilizations.
The Biblical families of Noah, before and after the legendary flood were inhabitants of Mesopotamia (Gen. 6:7). According to Genesis 7:23, all the settlements in Mesopotamia were wiped out by a flood and only Noah’s family survived.
Noah had three sons, their names were Ham, Shem and Japheth. The descendants of Ham and Shem can be identified in several African nations. Their journeys and lands where they settled are documented in the books of the Bible and other historical writings. Japheth’s descendants are less defined and their records are not as in depth as his brothers.
Let us examine Ham and his descendants; this son of Noah, is commonly believed to be the progenitor of the African people. From the earliest of time, Ham’s descendents were the most celebrated of all of Noah’s sons in the building of cities and the development of civilizations.
The Sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Phut and Canaan:
Who are the Cushites? Cushites are identified at present as ‘Egyptians’, ‘Ethiopians’, ‘Eritreans’ and ‘Sudanese’ these names being a later coinage, for these national groups; who are no longer identified by their tribes. The area where Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea and other adjoining countries are situated is the land of Cush
