THE BEGINNING
CHAPTER ONE
It was a cool and breezy day the fall was coming in, the scent in the air was fresh. Love was sweetly in the air for a woman name Katie Lucresia Bell.
Katie Bell was a tall and slender red-hair woman, her skin was the color of chestnut, and her eyes were a bright hazel brown.
Katie loved the cool fall; to her it was the best time of the year. This is the time of year, Kat always thought of the great holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, with a new love in Kat’s life, she was sure to have a great Christmas.
Kat was getting dress for work in fall colors and in fall scents, Kat needed to drop off something to her new love, before going to work. She was going to a place called the Hill, many people hung on the Hill, mostly bad people or people who felt the need to hustle for a living, may it be legal or illegal it did not matter anyway to make a dollar, and this was easy to do on a place like the Hill, there was a pool room, a little hole in the wall night club called Smokin Joe’s, a game room where teens, hung out all the time, sometimes they would hang there instead of going to school. Also a sandwich shop that sold fish, pork chops, fatback, not to mention the sausage dogs that might kill you, but every body loved the fish sandwiches and the pork chop sandwiches.
While the drug dealers hang there all the time, money floated through that place a lot. One of the hustler’s who hung on the Hill, was Kat’s new love, his name was Mark Ballard, Mark was a very handsome, tall, dark skin man, that live a hard gangster life, who only worked on the Hill, dealing and hustling crack cocaine.
Kat felted hard for this man and meeting him was more then what she’d bargain for, because Kat did not know Mark is a drug dealer. She thought the Hill was only a hang out spot for Mark and his friends. Knowing drug dealers hang in this spot, Kat just knew her friend Mark was not one of them.
Mark Ballard, was one of the worst kind of drug dealers, he did not care about making money for a living, he only sold drugs for the sport of it. He spends his drug money as fast as he makes it, to show off, which made Kat think he is a big spender, although she did not know where the money came from, Kat thought he would help out on some of the bills every now and then.
Kat notice how late it was getting, she did not see Mark standing in a crowed of men on the street corner of the Hill, as she passed by, looking too hard and in a hurry to see Mark as he waved at her.
Hey Kat!
Mark yelled, as Kat was pulling up in her car which was a little red Escort that looks hot pink in the sunlight.
She stopped and looked back.
Just the person, I’m looking for.
Kat muttered to herself, as she pulled back towards Mark.
That’s my baby,
Mark said to one of the men standing with him on the corner.
Looks like she don’t know who you are; she passed right by you man, is she one of your customers too?
No! And she don’t know that I sale, ok so don’t say anything about it.
Hi Baby,
Kat said, "why aren’t you dress?
You can’t ware sneakers to work in a factory.
Shouldn’t you be getting ready for work, how far do you have to go to get to work?"
Kat was asking questions to fast, for Mark; he could not answer Kat in fear of getting caught in his lies. One of the men in the crowed laughed, and Mark looked at him as if to say be quite or you are dead then turn back to Kat and smiled. Kat notice Mark was not answering her and she just brushes it off.
Well, anyway I made you lunch to take to work with you.
Thanks Baby, for the lunch, and no I don’t have to go far.
Mark replied in a slow deep sexy voice, Kat stared into his deep dark eyes, that always carries Kat into a deep trance, captivated by Mark’s sweet loving charm, Kat just sighed, and became speechless in a love trance. Even with Mark’s gangster outlook Kat, did not know Mark only worked on the Hill.
Well I’m on my way to work.
Kat said
I’ll see you tonight, when we both get offwork at eleven.
Kat thought Mark worked evening just like her, and he had to do everything in his power to keep things just as they are, or make a way to keep her even if she does find out.
Most dealers do not want their woman doing drugs unless he is a juggler, a juggler is someone who smokes and sells, who only sell in order to support their habit. Mark is a juggler, however he did not want Kat to judge him or leave him because of who he is, therefore he had to get Kat to rely on him, and by doing this to her, he thought would keep her from leaving him.
That night when Kat got off work Mark had a surprise waiting for her.
Mark prepared an eight ball this is a large ball of crack cocaine, (street cost a hundred and fifty dollars). Cook dinner, got flowers, long stem roses, ran bath water with rose pedals in the tub, a glass pipe to smoke the crack on, and a bottle of Champagne, dim the lights and waited for Kat, to come home.
When Kat pulled up in her car, she notice she hadn’t left a light on in the house, but she thought she had, the house looked extremely dark to her, and because Kat drives in from the side street, into the backyard of her house, Kat wasn’t able to see how Mark had sparkling decorations all over the front porch; lights was draped around the banister of the porch, and with a calm breeze flowing through the air, it was a great night for a candle light dinner outside.
As Kat, walked in she felt as though something strange was going on with Mark, but she was more puzzle by the light and the candles.
"What is all this? And how did you get in here?
"What are you up to?
Mark couldn’t speak, the sparkle in her eyes made him speechless, the candle lights made her eyes and hair sparkle like gold in the sunlight. Mark, did not say a word he simply gazed into her eyes as though Kat was the most beautiful woman on this planet, Mark knew right then he had to do all he could to keep her, and Mark hoped this dinner would do the trick.
"Katie Bell, do you know, that I love and cherish you with all my heart?
You are so fine and sexy."
"Mark, where are you going with this?
Come on Mark, what is up with you?
And how did you get in my house?"
"What’s up with the twenty questions?
Come with me." Mark replied.
Mark, I’m serious, how did you get into my house, without a key?
Mark did not answer Kat; he just took her hand and advance to the front porch where he prepared a candlelight dinner for two.
This is so beautiful.
Kat said.
And you are so beautiful.
Mark replied. After dinner I have something for you. You are going to love it.
What is it?
Kat questioned. Mark please! I can’t wait; I want to see it now.
At this point Kat thought she really had Mark, she had in her mind she was getting a ring.
Not now baby.
Mark exclaimed. All in good time.
Kat was very impatient, she obviously wanted to see it now so she can anxiously put it on her finger and watch it glitter while she ate, but since Mark was so very persisting, she hurried and gobbled down all of her food.
Now, I’m ready.
Kat said.
So I can watch it glitter, while I eat.
Mark laughed, but still did not or would not get the hint; Mark escorted her to the tub, full of roses, in addition he quietly but slowly took off her clothes while kissing her backside.
Now baby get in,
Mark said, and I’ll be right back, with your surprise,. Now close your eyes.
As Mark put the rock of cocaine, on the pipe he then lit it and blew the smoke into Kat’s mouth, the smell caught Kat be surprise, she still kept her eyes closed, as he place his lips on hers and blew more smoke into her mouth.
What! What is this? What are you doing?
It is cool, just pull.
Mark said. As he put the pipe to Kat’s mouth.
Just pull?
Kat asked repeating what Mark had said. And she did, Kat trusted him and began to pull, she began to feel light-headed she felt like all the wind was knocked out of her, and she felt like she was floating in med-air, Kat jump up out of the tub.
What is this? Are you feeding me drugs? I can’t believe you are giving me drugs, And you think that I’m suppose to be surprised or happy? What were you thinking? That I’m some kind of crack head and I need this kind of pleasure? Well you are wrong. This couldn’t be happening to me.
Kat said while waving her hand and shaking her head, she then turn back and looked him straight in his eyes.
I thought you were trying to asked me to merry you. Just get out.
Went off? Yeah she did, Kat went a little crazy.
Get your dope selling ass out of my house. And don’t you ever return.
Kat yelled at Mark before she let out all of the hurt that
