    In this book all Feng Shui Tools are described comprehensively for the very first time. Traditional Feng Shui tools as well as alternative, personal Feng Shui tools are presented.
    The book is structured in a way that each tool is described in detail with its specific criteria in regard to color, symbolism, effect, material, elements, Bagua zone, cardinal points and Yin & Yang properties.
    A special feature of this book, which was very important to the author, is that the 'Warning' section for each Feng Shui aid describes exactly where and in which cases it should not be used. Alternative solutions are then offered and shown in the 'Alternatives' section.
    The author has been working as a Feng Shui consultant and life coach since the earlies 1990s. She passes on her knowledge internationally in lectures (e.g. TU Vienna), seminars, and consultations both in the business and private area. Based on this experience, her training with various Feng Shui masters, and the request of many students she developed the manuscript for this reference book.

      1. Introduction

      „The Tools of Feng Shui"

      During my many years as an international Feng Shui consultant as well as in lectures and seminars, I was repeatedly asked for the right Feng Shui tool for a specific situation. The answer to this question is not so easy, because there are often several options that could be successful in the end. So, what might be the reason for this uncertainty?

      One part of the literature describes the use of traditional, Asian tools. The other part explains the correspondences applied to our western culture. Both groups are valid and equally applicable. The challenge, however, is that both groups have unfortunately never been described jointly and presented in a compendium. On the other hand, the tools are always described from a very one-sided and often simplified view. This results in contradictory statements and messages that one cannot understand without the necessary background knowledge and understanding and thus lead to the above-mentioned uncertainty.

      In my opinion, a book about Feng Shui tools must describe each tool comprehensively, examine it according to all Feng Shui principles, and provide distinct recommendations for application and use.

      At the beginning of all consideration, before you can choose the right Feng Shui tool, the problem or the specific question must be identified.

      What should be improved and what should be achieved?

      Should, for example, the flow of energy within an area of your home or office be improved because your career is stagnating? Do you have any private or health problems waiting to get better? Are you facing challenges in your partnership that should be addressed? Have you been trying to get a baby for a while? Is your own company not doing as well as you think it could? Is there hardly any progress in your private or business projects? Are you struggling with your employees, colleagues and supervisors more than you like? Are you satisfied with your salary?

      As with all these exemplary and many other questions, the right solution from your own personal point of view should be found for your topic. Then it is possible to take the correct measures seeing it from the Feng Shui side and to apply the appropriate Feng Shui tool.

      Another important factor for the choice of the appropriate aid in private - but especially in the business sector - is that you feel comfortable with this solution, with this tool.

      A displeasing solution may achieve the desired result, because it works according to all the rules of Feng Shui. However, this displeasure at the daily sight can cause unpleasant or disturbing feelings and therefore certainly not provide an optimal solution.

      For example, some traditional Asian Feng Shui solutions are unfamiliar to western, European and American countries. Since there is a solution in almost all cases, which fits into our western ambience, these unfamiliar solutions are usually not necessary in such cases. Particularly in the office and company area Feng Shui must work with solutions or aids that are usually unobtrusive and fit into the corporate image.

      I would like to emphasize once again that, as I said, typically Asian aids in our cultural area have an effect, and our tools also in Asia. For the choice of the tools it is only important to understand the connections and to understand the reason for the effect behind one or the other proposed solution.

      To point out and explain the bridge from Asian Feng Shui knowledge to Western oriented Feng Shui is one aim of this book.

      The second important reason to start this book was to provide clarity and understanding of the apparent contradictions in the use of Feng Shui tools.

      In order to choose the right tool always several aspects from the various areas of Feng Shui must be taken into account. Therefore, of course, an extensive professional knowledge is inevitable. In the existing Feng Shui literature Feng Shui aids are mostly recommended and presented from a single point of view. This means, for example, that metal wind chimes are recommended for the metal area in the house to strengthen this area without paying attention to the overall situation.

      However, there are often good reasons why it is better not to apply wind chimes but perhaps a dormant object made of metal or to place a white-flowering plant, because, in contrast to dormant objects or plants, wind chimes have a strong kinetic energy.

      Describing the individual Feng Shui tools in detail, pointing out possible problems with their use or offering alternatives is the goal I have set myself for this book.

      In this book all Feng Shui tools are presented as a whole for the first time. It is structured in such a way that it can be used as a well-arranged reference book. A clear and well-structured presentation was as
