Introducing Normal People
The story of the novel 'Normal People' occurs across five years. It revolves around the lives of two teenagers who grow up into mature people. Marianne Sheridan and Connell Waldron are two friends living in Ireland. They pretend not to know each other in school. Marianne's parents are both lawyers, and she is the smartest girl in school. But she is unpopular and is treated as an outcast by the other students. She reads a lot but doesn't pay attention to her looks and often appears shabby. On the other hand, Connell is a good-looking boy who is studious as well as plays football. Connell's mother, Lorraine, is a cleaner and works for Marianne's family.
Marianne likes Connell and thinks he's attractive. She doesn't have many friends and feels comfortable around Connell. They share a kiss. Eventually, they end up in a secret relationship. Connell doesn't want anyone to know that he was hooking up with her. He is afraid that his reputation would be tarnished if his friends got to know about
