Herbal Medicine Garden.
About.
If you have somehow ever been interested in herbalism¹ and thought to yourself that someday you would materialize your interest in this very healthfully beneficial vast field of natural study either by gathering explicit knowledge of what it entails to be a gardener of herbal medicines or by directly going into the practice of cultivating your own herbs right in your own home, garden or your lawn and you have been on the search for that book that will take you through a detailed step by step guide on how then search no more!
In this book, you will be carefully and promptly guided through on how to set up and start your very own herbal medicine garden, how to cultivate your herbs, what herbs to cultivate, the usefulness of all these herbs in the cure of common and uncommon ailments, detailed preparation of these herbs to the point of consumption, storage methods of various herbs, equipment, tools and materials needed to start out and the overall best practices to inculcate in maintaining the best garden and resultantly reaping the best herbs.
The study into the world of herbs is an age-long practice that dates back to even the neanderthal man and even then when there was no modern equipment and test labs to properly test these beauties of nature, health, and well-being of man were mandatory and some sacrifices had to be made.
Truth is, many lives got lost in the attempt to garner knowledge of which herbs were good for consumption and which were pure poison. Of course, over time, and we are talking about hundreds of years or even thousands, some herbs were labeled and classified as really beneficial to the health of man and hence began to be cultivated. And because their natural habitats were in the thick bushes or on high cliffs, waterfronts and in environments where the temperatures were very harsh, either very very cold or super hot; these natural medicines had to be cultivated at the closer range for easier and sometimes impromptu access.
Early man, through trial and error and pure intelligence (which is a testament of how much time was spent watching and mentally recording these plants' growth processes from seedlings to mature trees, mini shrubs, and lengthy crawlers), was able to start his own experiments and cultivation of these herbs in his immediate vicinity and overtime mastered the elements and all the conditions necessary for these herbs to grow. All this knowledge has been preserved and passed down through ages and is now at your fingertips. Isn't that just great news!
Herbal Medicines.
There are many classifications of various healthful herbs, so many groups, subgroups, and species all with similar, partly differing characteristics but all still beneficial to all-round good health and the cure of as many as thirty-nine diseases present in man.
These herbs can be taken whole, mixed and even used along-side pharmaceutical drugs to further aid and bolster impeccable health. This goes to say that in as much as we promote the use of herbs in treating ailments and for general wellbeing, we would not advocate against pharmaceuticals. In fact, there is no competition whatsoever. Some of the lab drugs prescribed to you by your doctor have their core active ingredients extracted from certain herbs which sometimes can be harmful if taken directly and without medical prescription. Herbs and drugs work hand in hand as a good fusion all for the same purpose. In earlier times there must have been serious cases of overdosage or even cases of under dosage which equally leads to the death of the patient but in more modern times with the necessary measuring tools and equipment, dosage problems have been consciously and drastically minimized with the right proportions given and prescribed for the appropriate medical conditions. Now you can be given just the right quantity of basil tea with lemon alongside a supplementary drug prescribed by your physician for a harmless weight-loss plan. All thanks to modern measurement tools and lab tests.
Herbal medicines, in general, are not to be seen as materials used simply to cure ailments directly or used to keep healthy. Of course, these are part of their essences but these herbs are to be seen as more than just to be used
because they are living organisms too which to some extent
