Be careful what you do, for the time may come, when you can’t do what you want to do because of what you’ve done!

This book is affectionately dedicated to the loving memory of Dr. O.J. Dolphus, Sr. The above statement is just one of the life lessons my biological father was able to teach me, during his brief sixty-nine years of living. I Love and miss you, Daddy!

    Preface

    Translated:

to bear, carry, or move from one place, position, etc.,

    to another; to transfer.

The term translated suggests a dynamical movement of consciousness. Therefore, this book was written to provoke awareness in you, concerning the bifurcation of your co-consciousness. Everyone has a co-conscious (a problem conscious and a solution conscious). And the authorial intent is to usher you from your problem to your God-given solution; by shifting your metacognition (awareness or analysis of one’s own learning or thinking processes).

The problem consciousness consists of temptations to which one is inclined to yield, such as generational curses, self-imposed curses, and other ungodly propensities. Conversely, the solution consciousness is essentially the mind of Christ. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (See Philippians 2:5). Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be (See Romans 8:7). Accordingly, the thing that gets mankind in trouble is the constant mental rehearsal of their problematic mindsets. Clearly, the problem mind is a lawless mind which has no peace because it is not fixed upon the things of God (See Isaiah 26:3). Therefore, Translated is designed to snatch its readers out of that stinking thinking, nestling them peacefully in the mind of Christ.

Albert Einstein once said, We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. Einstein intimated that our problem consciousness impels us toward cycles of which we find it difficult to get out. Whereas, our solution consciousness provokes a life modification, so we can engage our lives more abundantly.

The premise is simple: if we can consistently think from a solution consciousness, we can rise to our pristine, godistic nature and consistently counter the problem consciousness that is innate within us.

Many have capitulated to their environment. They have negotiated with the holding patterns that the aggregate of their surroundings foster. My goal for writing this book is to facilitate a paradigm shift that causes individuals to rise above their environmental prisons. Therefore, this book is directed to anyone who feels as though they are stuck. According to Newton’s first Law, an object that is at rest will stay at rest, unless an external force acts upon it. Congratulations! You are holding in your hands your exacting, external force.

Perhaps you are a business owner and you are having challenges with your employees, or you can’t seem to turn a profit. Maybe you are married and the marriage has grown stale, and you can’t (for the life of you) figure out how to get back what you once had. Or perhaps, you are not married and you have placed your life on hold, either waiting on someone to come and sweep you off of your feet or waiting on the one you’re with to commit. Either way, Translated will provide the push you need to start moving.

This book is a non-fiction, spiritual self-help book. It is designed to snatch you out of your excuses and posture you into your prophetic destiny. It is founded upon Ephesians 2:6 which says, And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You will learn, as you turn the pages of this book, the significance of metacognition (awareness of one’s thinking processes) and bi-dimensional living (living in Heaven and on Earth, simultaneously). In fact, you will learn how it is possible to actualize Ephesians chapter 2 in everything you do!

The research for Translated spanned countless hours of probing into metaphysics while remaining theologically sound. I realized, for almost every theological principle, there is metaphysical juxtaposition. Moreover, every divine precept has a practical counterpart. In brief, there is a Heaven and there is an Earth. I studied a lot of metaphysics: Quantum Physics, String Theory, Autonomy, Self-actualization, Entropy—the whole gamut. Thereupon, the revelation for this book is steeped in the gravity and balance of these metaphysical nuggets and God’s Word (which is the ultimate authority).

    Acknowledgements

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for giving me the strength and fortitude to complete this divine assignment. When my to-do list mounted and there was seemingly no end in sight, He Translated me!

Also, this book would not be possible without some very generous help from numerous people along the way—people who fueled my passions and backed my pursuits. Therefore, I would like to acknowledge the following:

Monica P. Eagle—I want to thank you for all of your labors. I will be forever grateful for all of your sacrifices, your time, and your money. May your harvest tackle you soon. Thanks for having the drive and motivation to supervise the GTDWM Covenant Partners. Oftentimes, you commanded double and triple duty and never once complained. Thank you! And thanks for the phone calls, text messages, emails, and songs of encouragement (You are my Sunshine!). I Look to You, Daughter and I love you deeply!

GTD World Ministries (Covenant Partners)—I would like to express my gratitude to the Covenant Partners who provided support via prayers and financial support. Only Heaven will tell the conglomeration of lives that have been changed by your giving. The publishing of this book is just another example of our confluent anointing. Between you and I, there is no vision which can arise that we don’t have the power to manifest!

Bishop David & Lady Melanie Martin—These pages lack the capacity to hold the multitudes of my gratitude towards you both. You are not just my spiritual parents; we are family! Thanks for your examples of marital love, spiritual conquest, and pastoral integrity. Your impartations have prepared me for Heaven and for Earth. You’re my catalyst and I love you, Mom and Dad!

Pastor Sherri L. Crawford—I add special thanks to my third heartbeat. Thanks for all the hats you wear concerning me. I truly appreciate you. It is noteworthy how you push my vision harder than you push your own. Get ready for a prophet’s reward! Also, I thank you for my expert graphics, postcards, business cards, and the fine work you did on the cover of this book. You are in a class all by yourself. I admonish anyone who has printing needs (of any size) to contact MAC Graphics & Printing at [email protected] or www.macgraphicsandprinting.net. Again, thanks for being my spiritual daughter, sister, friend, confidant, and third heartbeat. I truly appreciate the intensity of our fellowship, but I am gloriously fond of our relationship. I will forever love you, Lynn!

Above all, I want to thank my family who supported and encouraged me in spite of all the time it took me away from them. It was a long and difficult journey for them. They had to live with my isolation as I wrote these chapters. Chris and Rae, Daddy loves you both very much! You are true jewels upon the ephod of my heart!

Angela Ribbon Dolphus—The imprint that you have placed upon my life is positively indelible! Your unyielding love and support has been the inspiration that has driven me onwards. You singlehandedly translated my life. Thank you for being my love, my muse, and my smile motivator. You are at the center of all that I do. And thanks for always adopting my vision as your own. You always cheer the loudest and you always smile the proudest. You, alone, are my desiring constant. I simply adore you, my dear Ribbon.

As you know, oftentimes when I attempt to convey my heart towards you, it filters through metrical structure. So please receive the latest poem I’ve written for you…

    Sensual Tranquility

If your love was high, I’d jump & grab it.

If your love was low, I’d abase myself; obey gravity.

If your love was Queen, I’d bow & gesture civility.

If it was lonely, I’d hold it & show it my ability.

If it was bound, I’d pick its locks until there was liberty.

And if it was wrong, I would humbly subvert its plausibility.

I would make my reality your reality; with loving rehability.

Some can’t grasp how your love is all my eggs in one basket!

It’s perceived a liability, via distorted readability.

    But you see, from 1998, to date and unbounded infinity;

You’re my Heart, my Ribbon, and my Sensual Tranquility!

Last but not least, I owe a ton of thanks to the best editor on the planet: Chelsia Brewer. It was amazing to work with someone so intuitive and talented and spiritually congenial. She was heroic in helping me polish everything up to get it ready for print. Chelsia is patient, keen at her craft, and meticulous. And I would encourage anyone who is writing a book to acquire the editing services of My PenPal’s Editor-in-Chief, Chelsia Brewer. You may contact her at www.Facebook.com/ThePerfectPenPal or by email at [email protected]. Thanks Chelsia, and may the favor of God rest upon your life completely.

During the writing of this book I lost my father, Dr. O.J. Dolphus. He passed at the young age of sixty-nine. My father gave me my spiritual foundation and I am eternally grateful for the path he has trail-blazed for me. Consequently, his death temporarily deflated my enthusiasm to write, so I placed this book on hold for several months. Then, one day the host of a radio show interviewed me and asked about the premise and the timing of my next release. It was a prophetic moment for me because I hadn’t divulged the fact that I was writing to anyone (at that time). As I began to explain, it challenged me to function in its principles and I immediately went back to work to complete the book, in my father’s honor.

Likewise, you may need a nudge out of the dire disease of complacency. You see, complacency is the opiate of faith because it renders your life (and faith) lukewarm and un-dogmatic. Or perhaps, you may need a spiritual jolt out of familiarity because you can never be changed by anything that does not challenge you. Either way, you are sure to get Translated (an upgraded consciousness) in this God-inspired book. Enjoy…

    Chapter 1

    WHO GAVE ME CRABS?

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

    (Genesis 37:5)

Once a crab is caught and placed in a bucket, it is likely to crawl out. However, when a second crab is placed in the bucket, neither crab will allow the other to get out. In consequence, it is highly probable that neither will ever escape the limitations of the bucket.

Comparably, some people are like crabs! They are threatened by your dreams and aspirations. In fact, they despise you for even daring to dream because your dream reminds them of the dream they lost. Or perhaps, your pursuit of success challenges them to face their own fears and failures. Furthermore, watching you ascend to the top of the bucket stuns by standing crabs into inaction. Consequently, many have settled for much less than what they once dreamed. At any rate, you should never relinquish your dream to appease an underachiever.

Let us investigate the spirit of a crab, shall we? Whenever those around you develop a bad spirit because you decide to go after your destiny—they are crabs. Moreover, if ever you decide to make a quality decision that makes your life tangibly better—and those around you respond to your decision with negative comments or ridicule—they are crabs!

In Genesis chapter 37, Joseph’s brothers had a crab syndrome, but notice the text. The hatred of Joseph’s brothers could not extinguish his dream. God used the hatred of the brothers to set Joseph’s dream in motion. After all,
