Helen Keller
Helen Keller is revered around the world as a symbol of perseverance in the face of adversity. She was, however, so much more. She was moved by her tremendous concern for others to commit her life to assisting others in overcoming enormous impediments to living healthy and productive lives. She was a woman of dazzling intelligence, high ambition, and remarkable accomplishment.
Helen Keller, full name Helen Adams Keller, was an American novelist and educator who was blind and deaf. She was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and died on June 1, 1968, in Westport, Connecticut. Keller became blind and deaf at the age of 19 months after contracting a sickness (probably scarlet fever). Alexander Graham Bell examined her when she was six years old. Keller stayed with Sullivan, a superb teacher, from March
