About this ebook
This is a downloadable PDF version of my "Oral pathology Mnemonics Online Course" for dental students, Dental Boards Candidates, and dentists of all skill sets.
We cover the better, easier and more fun way of studying oral pathology.
- The course is based on the oral pathology lectures I had in dental school.
- it covers the most difficult-to-memorize details (difficult to me of course).
- It is not meant to explain the whole oral pathology science (you know, it would take months to do that )
- This course helps you to avoid trouble when stuck in exam and your memory starts failing you. It will provide you with a list of techniques and tricks to use to study faster, more efficiently, and with less stress and worry of forgetting using proven "memory and study skills".
Most importantly, it will give you an insight of an extremely helpful and reliable technique that will let you overcome any difficulty in remembering difficult stuff.
Plus, you can always build-up upon these mnemonics with all the information you have to know, build-up stories, laugh about it, and never mix-up in the exam.
The course has been reported by its students to be very helpful in studying and remembering oral pathology material for dental college, INBDE and NDEB AFK.
Dentistry Students who have taken this course saw a significant improvement in their grades, and it made studying oral pathology and medicine much easier, more fun, and more efficient.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5this ebook was stated that will be available on 11th March 2023, and hence decided to subscribe to the premium account of SCRIBD. However, it is now postponed to 11/4/23 LOL, that really sounds ridiculous, is SCRIBD planning to keep postponing indefinitely? literally do not know why am I subscribing to SCRIBD. If the ebook is not planned to release, just give us a notice or remove it from SCRIBD. Kind of fooling the students around.

Developmental Defects of the Tongue
Microglossia
Cause:
Mostly associated with a group of overlapping conditions known as Oromandibular-Limb hypogenesis Syndrome
, which is characterized by limb abnormalities such as:
Absence of fingers (hypodactalia) or partial or total absence of the limb (hypomelia).
Hypo-dactalia = tactile⇨ Tactile sensation is in the fingers.
Hypo-melia = Mill (treadmill) ⇨ when you run on the treadmill you move your limbs (arms and legs).
He who has a small tongue (shy and doesn’t talk a lot) would have short arms (doesn’t hit other kids), too.
Macroglossia
Cause:
Can be either Congenital or Acquired
Congenital: e.g. Cretinism
Acquired: e.g. Acromegaly, Myxedema
C-ongenital ⇨ C-retinism
Ac-quired ⇨ Ac-romegaly, Myxedema
Myx-edema = enlarged
Clinical Signs and Symptoms
Tongue will have crenate lateral borders and the patient will present with an open bite & mandibular prognathism.
As the tongue is large, the patient will bite on its borders ⇨ crenate lateral borders;
And the tongue will push the mandible forward ⇨ Mandibular prognathism.
Bonus Mnemonic: Cretinism= Congenital Hypothyroidism:
Cretinism ⇨ Congenital ⇨ we now know that it is something congenital.
Hypothy-roidism = Hypo thigh = Reduced thighs ⇨ this
