We Would See Jesus Study Guide - Lisa Traughber
Introduction
And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
John 17:3
We Would See Jesus, by Roy and Revel Hession, unfolds the character and depth of Christ, drawing one into deeper intimacy with Him. Knowing Christ in greater measure is also the purpose of this study guide. It supplements the text through questions that provoke further thought and activities that illustrate the concepts.
This guide may be used for either individual or group study. It is keyed to the 2013 edition of We Would See Jesus. If other printings are used for study, the page numbers may not be the same.
Definitions of words are taken from either the Random House College Dictionary or, if referring to a Greek or Hebrew word, from the pertinent section (G or H) of Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the /3/1,/e. These are indicated in the footnotes.
All Scripture quotations are taken from the King James Version unless otherwise noted.
Each chapter includes an introductory question, Scriptures that relate to the authors’ thoughts, discussion questions for deeper understanding, a prayer focus, a place to record an application, and a question that may be used for journalizing. Suggested group activities and a closing hymn are also included.
As you undertake this study, may you find as Paul did in 2 Corinthians 11:3, that you are drawn closer to the sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
WE WOULD SEE JESUS
by Roy and Revel Hession
Preface
Introductory question:
(If you are using this in a group setting, have each member introduce himself and then answer the following question.) If you could see Jesus face-to-face today, what is one question you would ask Him?
Discussion questions and Scripture study:
Read the following verses: Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:3; Titus 3:5-6; Romans 11:6.
Write, in your own words, a definition of grace.
In what ways are you trying to use a formula to make the Christian life work
?
Read Acts 3:19–20 and Isaiah 57:15. The word refreshing
in Acts 3:20 means recovery of breath, or revival.
’ Of what is revival the result? How does this compare with popular ideas about what revival is?
The title of this book comes from John 12:21. In verses 24–25 of this passage Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
