ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I am thankful to all of the people that I have met in the music business and all of the years of knowledge and wisdom I gained that has helped me start and curate the Music Release University.
From my mother Debbie Jackson-Mangual may she continue to rest in power, she was my first manager and we had no knowledge about the music business, just that we wanted to be in it and she was like you have to get in it to learn it.
My pops and mentor may he rest in peace De’Jon J.H. Clark aka Mr. 30 Minutes early to every meeting who taught me that paying attention to details is key to everything in life, especially the music business. Fear no one, but respect everyone, respect the process and you will command respect. Great leaders develop other leaders.
My first major manager Paul Stewart aka DJ P aka White Boy from Compton. When I started with Lighter Shade of Brown, I watched how Paul maneuvered and said to myself I want to make moves like this dude. He managed not only Lighter Shade of Brown, but Coolio, Montel Jordan, Pharcyde, and many other legends and became the President of Def Jam West. He showed me how to be elusive, smart, and intelligently aggressive with my approach to the game. Which was very instrumental in me putting this series together.
Shiro Gutzie for showing me the blueprint without showing me the blueprint on how to navigate the industry and become seen so much that you get recognized, he is very strategic in his marketing and approach.
Kevin Black, Always bet on Black!
Mr. Hype is the King of everything! One of Interscope Records greatest promotional generals, known as one of the modern marketing geniuses to ever do it, from Dr. Dre to Snoop to 2 Pac, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game, No Doubt, KB could give you a vision, a goal, a plan and would execute it, all you had
