      Chapter One: Due a Vacation

      I’ve never been one for vacations, really. Even though Liza and I have promised each other we would go somewhere exotic this fall, I’m not feeling it. Maybe I’m a bit of a party-pooper for saying so, but there are so many other things I would prefer to do right here in Tacoma, Washington.

      Just look, my wife says with a smile as she pushes the brochure across the dining room table. You know it will be fun, Aiden.

      I sigh and then grimace as I look down at the front of the brochure. It’s an island, obviously. Why an island?

      Obviously, smartass, she replies. Just open it up and read about the place. You’ll love it, baby.

      Her blue eyes dance around in her head as she looks from the folded brochure to me. Liza is an incredibly beautiful brunette who works out three or four times a week at the gym. An avid bicyclist and runner, I have quite the task of trying to keep up with her both physically and in other ways. We met while in college as we both worked out in the gym on campus, and since then the two of us have been as close as any pair could be. Marriage seemed to be the next logical step in our relationship together just a few years ago, and I’m glad we took that leap. However, I have noticed a change in Liza recently that is puzzling. Her conversation starters with me have been very risque to say the very least.

      I open the brochure and read about this resort island in the Caribbean Sea. Though I expect some features offered through this advertisement for the island, I do not expect some of the additional offerings found there. It takes reading deeper into the lines of the brochure and looking at Liza before I realize she’s completely serious about what she is suggesting.

      Seriously? I say as I feel my face turn deep red.

      Seriously, she replies with an impish grin on her face. What do you think?

      Swallowing hard, I tell her, Liza, this is a huge thing you’re asking from me. You want to swing with other couples?

      The brochure is chocked full of testimonials from other people who speak of how much they enjoyed taking part in the swinging culture on the island. Though my wife has suggested we look into this lifestyle, these conversations have only ever taken place during sex and I’ve considered them to be mostly horny machinations. Not once did I think she was completely serious about her suggestions.

      I know you like to keep things a little more on the vanilla side, Aiden, but this could be a lot of fun. We would get to meet new people, right?

      Shit, honey. I catch myself laughing a little as I consider how far off this is from what I imagined our married life to be like when we said our vows to each other. Liza was very stern with me before we married as she told me she would never accept having me cheat on her with another woman. It would definitely lead to our divorce, she swore to me. I believed her then, but I’m not sure what to do with that now.

      I want you to see something before you say no to this, baby, she continues as she pulls out her phone. Liza already has a video ready to play, and she presses the start button so that I can watch a promotional video about the island with her.

      It’s everything you could ever want in an island getaway, the video begins as a beautiful woman appears on the screen with a man of about her age. Fresh air, great food, and sand beneath your feet awaits you on Isla Verde.

      Yeah, I don’t know if the food or the sand is the major draw, I mutter as I continue to watch the video with my wife.

      You know, Renee, there’s a lot more to life here as well, the man beside her comments. While on Isla Verde, you will be able to take part in everything on the island. This includes the personal relationships you wish to nurture during your time here. Whether that means you simply enjoy a cold drink with friends or you share a bed with someone else’s wife or husband, we guarantee you will have the time of your life.

      This is ridiculous, I tell Liza as I chuckle.

      It’s for a month, she answers flatly. And it’s within our budget.
