    Introduction

    As-salāmu 'Alaykum my dear brothers and sisters. I am grateful for your interest in reading my book and would like to express my appreciation. May Allah bless and reward you for your efforts.

    To begin, I would like to share my personal experience with ‘waswas’. It started in college around 20 years ago, where it greatly affected my ability to focus on academics and social activities. I would often spend hours in the washroom repeating my istinja’ and wudu’. The problem became severe, causing me to feel tired and my mind to constantly ruminate.

    It persisted for a few years, during which I searched for a quick solution online. However, I found that most resources only explained the definition and types of ‘waswas’ and did not provide a clear step-by-step method to overcome it.

    Despite this, I found some helpful videos, such as those discussing Al-Qawaʿid Al-Fiqhiyah (the qa’ida or method according to principles of Islamic law) which helped me understand the importance of understanding these principles, especially when struggling with ‘waswas’.

    By combining my personal experience with the ‘waswas’ problem and utilizing various religious and psychological methodologies from religious teachers, books by early Islamic scholars, research journals, and other reliable sources, Alhamdulillah, I was able to overcome ‘waswas’ and lead a normal life again.

    I discovered that ‘waswas’ follows a pattern and that Shaytan uses the same tactics to deceive us. If we can identify this pattern early on and recognize Shaytan's tactics, we can reject these whispers from our mind.

    Think of ‘waswas’ as a seed, if you continue to nurture it with attention, it will grow. If you entertain ‘waswas’, it will become stronger, more intense and
