About this ebook
It's a dark and stormy afternoon when Sasspants, PI(G), leaves Mr. Venezi's pet shop to live with a new owner. Soon there's a mystery afoot back at the shop: the cat from the bookstore next door has disappeared. All the pet shop animals are putting on their detective hats, but their fluffy-but-faraway guinea pig detective can't help them follow the clues! Can Hamisher the hamster solve this cat-napping without Sasspants? He's going to try his furry best not only to crack the case, but to reunite with his best friend and fellow sleuth too.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5PSC Review: It is challenging to find appropriate graphic novels for elementary students. If you don’t have the series Guinea Pig Pet Shop Private Eye in your library collection you should. Although not necessary to read this series in order, many students may find that reading the first book in the series before reading others will help them understand the quirky characters. Sasspants and sidekick Hamisher are still hoping to leave the pet store together, but when the human Detective Pickles takes only Sasspants, Hamisher is dejected. When the bookstore cat disappears, he tries to solve the mystery, but it’s only when Sasspants leaves Detective Pickles home and returns is the lost cat located. They are a team and must remain a team, even if it means the pet store will be their home forever. Fun read with sophisticated humor, a nice switch from in-your-face bathroom humor.
