Execute the Basics to Perfection
Before we get to the advanced stuff, let’s review the fundamentals. First, the single biggest factor that causes business owners to overpay taxes is disorganization and bad bookkeeping.

to a 401(k), IRA, or other qualified account.
As business owners, we are terrible at recordkeeping. It’s a boring task, and it tends to be a skill we undervalue and an expense we don’t want to pay for. We always seem to have too many other things going on, and we ignore bookkeeping. But it’s critical. Bookkeeping is the single best tax strategy you can have, and it’s critical for a successful business.
