    Introduction

Ayurveda is a holistic health and wellness system with its roots in India that dates back more than five thousand years. Ayurveda is more than simply a medical system; it's a way of life that encourages balance, harmony, and vigor via appropriate nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset. The name science of life comes from the Sanskrit words Ayur meaning life and Veda meaning knowledge.

Food as medicine is a fundamental principle in Ayurveda. Every part of us feels the effects of what we eat. Carefully selected and cooked food has the power to restore health, enhance one's sense of well-being, and harmonize the body's natural cycles. Digestive systems, dietary requirements, and lifestyles are all considered unique by Ayurveda.

    All Three Vatas

Based on various combinations of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether), Ayurveda divides persons into three basic constitutions or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. What constitutes an optimal diet, way of life, and even psychological and emotional well-being are all dictated by these doshas.

    ●  Lightness, mobility, and originality are traits of the Vata (Air and Ether) element. Warm, grounding foods, such as stews, soups, and cooked grains, are often beneficial for Vata types.

    ●  Pitta, the element of fire and water, stands for ferocity, change, and power. To balance their fiery disposition, Pitta people should eat cooling and refreshing foods like fruits, salads, and vegetables.

    ●  The earthy and watery Kapha aspect represents solidity, weight, and framework. To stay balanced and energized, Kapha types perform best with warm, bright, and stimulating foods.

    ●  Once you know your dosha, you may use that knowledge to make dietary choices that are good for your body and mind.

    Ayurvedic Principles Prepare Food

To assist digestion and overall body function, Ayurvedic cooking aims to balance the six tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent—in every meal. To promote health, balance the doshas, and nourish certain organs, each flavour is important.
