Description
On today's episode, Jason brings us wall-to-wall reaction to the Los Angeles Dodgers victory in Game 6 to clinch the World Series title. Unfortunately, the biggest story of the night had nothing to do with what actually happened on the field as we found out that Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be pulled from the game in the sixth inning. Can you imagine what would've happened if the Tampa Bay Rays would've came back and won Game 6? Would they still have played Game 7 on Wednesday? Major League Baseball, FOX television and the Dodgers, especially, dodged a major bullet on that one. On the field, the biggest story, by far, centered around Kevin Cash's decision to pull ace pitcher Blake Snell in the middle of the fifth inning with the Rays up 1-0. Snell has been almost unhittable the entire game up to that point, but Cash decided to pull Snell anyway because the 'analytics say he struggles his third time through a lineup'. Seriously. The over-reliance on analytics has run amok throughout the sports world, and it may have cost the Rays a World Series championship in the process. Finally, in what may have been the biggest storyline of the night were it new for Turner's COVID test and Cash's managerial blunder, kudos to Clayton Kershaw for finally getting over the hump and earning that World Series ring.
